The Xiaomi Redmi Note is the newest addition to the company’s portfolio in India. The phone will go on sale for the first time in India tomorrow via Flipkart, with a large batch of 50,000 units. The budget-friendly phablet is priced at Rs 8,990, and its registration window is open until midnight tonight. The first 5,000 Flipkart First consumers who registered for tomorrow’s flash sale will find the Redmi Note added to their carts today.

The Redmi Note (FAQs | review) offers compelling features like a 5.5-inch HD display, 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 3,100mAh battery. The device comes with 8GB of internal memory expandable by another 32GB. Photography is handled by a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and a 5MP front shooter. The dual-SIM phablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly bean with MIUI on top, and offers connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and USB OTG.

Xiaomi also announced the Redmi Note 4G with support for Indian LTE bands. The single SIM device will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor instead of a MediaTek chipset. Apart from Flipkart, it will be available via Airtel flagship stores in six cities in the second half of December, priced at Rs 9,999.

The Redmi Note will take the place of the Redmi 1s‘ (reviewFAQs) flash sale for a few weeks.
