The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 26th at 12 noon and will likely be live-streamed via the company’s official social media channels. The IoT event will see the launch of at least six new products across various categories, based on Xiaomi’s teasers. These include the Mi Band 6 fitness tracker, Mi TV 5X series, Mi Notebook, Mi Security Camera, Mi Router, and Mi Shoes. Here’s a quick look at what each of these new products has to offer based on teasers.
Mi Band 6
Arguably the most-anticipated new product from Xiaomi is the Mi Band 6 considering the popularity of the Mi Band 5 in India. The Mi Band 6 has already been launched in China, so we know about its design and features. The fitness tracker features a 1.56-inch colour AMOLED display that is 50 percent larger than the 1.1-inch screen on the Mi Band 5. The Mi Band 6 supports 130 watch faces and users can also create custom faces via the companion app.
Mi Band 6 comes with a SpO2 sensor and a 24-hour heart rate sensor. It can keep tabs on 15 new exercise modes, in addition to the 15 exercise modes that the Mi Band 5 already supports. It can auto-detect 6 fitness modes, including indoor and outdoor running, indoor and outdoor cycling and elliptical. The Mi Band 6 can last up to 14 days on a single charge and can extend the battery life up to 19 days with normal usage. It is 50 meters water-resistant.
Mi TV 5X
Next up is the Mi TV 5X series that will succeed the popular Mi TV 4X lineup. The upcoming Mi TV 5X will look to improve on its predecessor by offering better picture quality and sound as well as improved features. Xiaomi has already revealed that the Mi TV 5X will come with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support. The upcoming smart TV will come equipped with 40W speakers and Xiaomi has tied up with IMDB, the world’s leading entertainment guide and database. Other features include far-field mics powered by Google Assistant, PatchWall UI, and metal design.
New Mi Notebook
Xiaomi will be launching new Mi Notebooks tomorrow. According to the teaser page on Mi.com, the new lineup of laptops will offer a 16:10 aspect ratio with 6.4 million pixels to offer a crisp and immersive viewing experience. The display comes with a 100 percent sRGB colour gamut and a high screen refresh rate. One of the highlights of the new Mi Notebook series is that it will offer a backlit keyboard. The laptop also comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button and a unibody metal design thanks to aircraft-grade aluminium. The Xiaomi notebook is likely powered by the latest 11th Gen Intel core processors.
Mi Security Camera
On the home security front, Xiaomi will be launching the Mi Security Camera. The smart security camera aims to deliver superior video clarity and dual-band Wi-Fi for smoother connectivity. The camera will be operated via the Mi Home app available for iOS and Android devices.
Xiaomi will launch its first Wi-Fi router in India tomorrow. The Mi Router claims to deliver fast connectivity speeds while keeping cool. You will be able to control the security and internet performance through the companion app. This is all we know about the Mi Router as of now.
Lastly, we have the Mi Shoes. Xiaomi claims its new pair of footwear is light and flexible. The shoes come with a high elastic fit for comfort and are protected against odour-causing microbes and bacteria. The Mi Shoes will be offered in a variety of colour options.
