I'm a proud owner of the IFB washing machine since 2004. After serving us more than a decade it was time to say goodbye as it was getting difficult for us to get the spare parts. Fyi my machine suffered from PCB failure and I couldn't source the part as it was a decade old machine. As the washing machine market has evolved a alot from our last time purchase i went to the market to see all the available options. Honestly you'll have to choose between IFB, Bosch and LG as others aren't so much active in the front load game. First went to see LG liked it but didn't like the capacity which was 6 kg also checked higher varient but some how it didn't appeal me. Then moved to another showroom to check Bosch. The availability of some models were still an issue. I liked the Bosch serie 6 which was the direct competitor of the IFB Senator Aqua SX 8kg. So it was the fight between IFB and Bosch. Read all the reviews online and checked with the authorised dealers and came to a conclusion that both IFB and Bosch washing machines are good. If you check the online reviews for the IFB washing machine you'll notice negative reviews, its not for the machine but for the late delivery, late installation, broken item delivered etc etc. So both IFB and Bosch were good for my requirements barring the negative points I've just mentioned. My experience says the service will depend on the area you live. I took my mother to show both the machines as she'll be the one who is going to use it and she liked the IFB as usual. Below are some points that I liked about the IFB washing machine. The machine comes loaded with: - Massive 8 KG option (good for a family of 4) - Super 1400 rpm - More than 100 washing programmes which I'm sure you'll love it. - Works even with less water pressure unlike Bosch. - 4 years comprehensive warranty and 10 years spare parts support which is a huge plus as no other company has that. This will ensure the peace of mind. - Stainless steel drum (good for long life) - Silent motor which makes less noise (48 DB). This is quite similar to Bosch washing machines. - Auto Imbalance System, Foam Control System. - Lets you add laundry even after wash cycle has started. But there is a catch, you can add laundry in first 15 mins. If you try after that chances are that water may come out of the door. - It has a large LCD display which tells you the process being done in real time. This LCD will not only keep you updated on what it's going but it also looks modern. I find this extremely useful. - Comes with high low voltage protection. It has a smart microcontroller which monitors the voltage and stops the programme temporarily to protect the machine and resumes automatically when the voltage returns to normal. - Comes with cradle wash for all the delicate cloths you have. - Comes with usual fancy features like Air Bubble Wash System, Aqua Energie, 3D Wash System, Crescent Moon Drum, Protective Rat Mesh etc etc. Now coming to my delivery experience. I ordered the machine on 20th September and scheduled for saturday delivery which is 23rd which changed to Sunday. The delivery was missed twice, raised the issue and finally got the delivery on 25th Monday. I went for the exchange offer, so the delivery folks picked it up at the time of delivery which is a seamless process. IFB will arrange the installation but they'll take another 24 hours. To expedite the process just call them 24 hours before the delivery and they'll come at the time of the delivery. Got the call from the IFB representative same day and he paid the visit the next day as they have a 24 hours tat. The guy came loaded with all the accessories like stand, liquid detergent, cover, stabiliser and what not (it's a very long list, trust me). He removed the transit bolts and started upselling the stuff he got. I politely said no and saved my hard earned 6K (yes the accessories were for whopping 6K). You may like it as its a personal preference. Pro tip: the technician will try to sell you the extras by saying if you don't use your machine won't work efficiently and you might lose out on the warranty aswell...all you need to say is no thank you as you don't need them as your machine has it all (you may purchase the decal which helps in removing the salts that gets accumulated over the time). Just so you know, the decal is available in single packet as well for Rs 160. So don't fall in the trap of buying 10 packets at a time. To sum it up, its a good purchase and I'm sure you'll also love the machine like we do!
I have IFB machine with me for more than a decade. The product as a whole is excellent, but the company and its partnered service providers sucks! nnThe service contract has been out sourced to small time mechanics or companies and IFB post completion of sales does not bother about its customers. This way the repair/service partners get a free hand. Also each agent has his monopoly in the area, no other IFB service partner can help you. The Navi Mumbai agent is really unprofessional and rude. nnOnce I was quoted by service adviser to replace both motor and digi card (total estimate Rs.16000) when my machine clonked and I had called IFB customer care for service. I was surprised how can two parts go off simultaneously. Later I decided to look it up my self along with my AC mechanic who had little idea about front loading machines and found there was a simple loose contact in the main power area!. We just re-plugged it and voila! it worked!!!nnI would suggest consumers to stay away if they want peace of mind, especially
