Excellent Highend Product

I purchased the ideapad yoga a couple of weeks ago. So far, all I can say is - this is the best windows laptop I have come across till date. Its great to look at, boots-up incredibly fast, amazing build quality and compact charger. The rotation modes provides great flexibility when using it at home. Its worth the price tag. A few things that could've been better: 1. A little bulky when using as a tablet 2. 1 or 2 more USB ports would've been nice 3. The touch screen is no match for what we are used to on our ipads (though its good enough to work) 4. The camera gets confused if the screen rotated to 180 degress during video chat :) It start showing one part of video upside down! though a reset of the call fixes it

A Good Business Laptop BUT Not For MultimediaHomePersonal Use

Pros 1. Sleek, Light Weight 2. Fast SSD, so laptop boots up fast comparatively, all the applications open up a little faster. 3. i7 + 8 GB RAM + Intel HD Graphics = Sufficient for softwares like photoshop and dreamweaver and also for light gaming. It could run almost all the high end games (Batman Arkham series, Injustice : Gods Among Us. COD series games) in low settings without any lag. 4. Nice keyboard 5. IPS Display, so the colors are more bright and vibrant. One of the best displays I have seen on any laptop. 6. Good Touchscreen. Cons 1. Keyboard is not backlit, but again it is a touchscreen laptop-tablet hybrid. 2. Speakers are AWFUL. They have the bare minimum sound possible. Good for the silence of meeting rooms only, not for personal use at home for watching movies, playing games etc. But then again, speakers are generally not good in this 13 inch series laptops. 3. Only 1 USB 3.0 port and only 2 ports in total. Too less, given the price range. 4. Display is only qHD, not full HD. 5. No LAN port. You'll have to use a converter and it'll occupy a USB port (which are scarce already) 6. Tablet mode is uncomfortable. Verdict : It is a beautiful laptop, very good at what it does. You can use it for all purposes but u'll need following additional accessories : - A USB Hub - External Speakers - External HDD - USB to Ethernet Adapter - Keyboard Cover (for tablet mode) Would I recommend buying it as of June 2014? NO, because : - It has a 3rd gen processor, but now 4th gen is out which has better battery life and performance. - It is too costly given its specifications. You might be able to find better specifications now in less price. - Dell XPS 12 would be a better choice.
