A good quality laptop!

I bought the Lenovo Ideapad 500 80NT00PAIN on Amazon on 25th July 2016, for Rs. 55500. The specifications include an Intel Core i7-6500U, AMD MESO XT 4GB Graphics, Full HD 15.6 inch screen, 8GB RAM, 1 TB 5400 RPM HDD, and FreeDOS. After 4 hours of usage, the following points come to mind:n1. The keyboard IS BACKLIT. It can be activated with Fn key + Spacebar.n2. The keyboard travel and quality is excellent, as expected from Lenovo, which invests a lot of money in keyboard R&D. It flexes slightly near the centre when typing quickly, but this is expected of a modular design that allows removal and replacement of the keyboard, and doesn't hamper the typing experience, so is not a problem at all.n3. The quality of the FHD panel is quite good, and movie trailers on YouTube look stunning!n4. The Dolby certified JBL speaker set blasts out high quality sound!n5. The brushed metal aluminium finish seems sturdy.n6. Battery is not user removable, and removing the HDD requires removal of 8-10 screws of the back panel.nnI will add more points as I continue to use this laptop. Hope this is helpful.

Waste of money.....

Writing this review after 2 months of use....(Location: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur)nI purchased Lenovo Ideapad 500-151SK (80NT00PAIN) with 2 years extended warranty on 16th May 2016, from the authorized retailer of Lenovo “The Do Store”. nWithin 2 months, the laptop screen started flickering, fonts become blur, dead pixels on screen etc. which I thought might be due to some display driver. So contacted Lenovo and they took a month to resolve by providing a replacement for the display panel. nI have spent my hard earned (Rs. 63000) for my Ph.D. work and not for this kind of repair work. So, I asked for replacement of my laptop but the Lenovo started giving excuses that this is not under company policy and replacement of laptop is possible only if complained are made within a week. nEarlier I used a Dell laptop (Inspiron n5110) and never faced any problem for almost 4 years.nSo, I won't recommend this lenovo laptop
