Recommended but few points to note

First of all, I know what you are thinking, 32k for 2nd gen i3? whereas you can get 3rd gen i5 in this budget. But before proceeding, take a look at the key points (why I purchased it). PROS: 1. Its a thinkpad, so no compromise on the hardware quality, finishing. 2. 4.5-5 HOURS full HD playback and you can juice out 6 HOURS if you are using applications with limited resource usage!! I can guarantee that you won't find this amount of backup in any other series other than thinkpad. 3. Some guys will argue that the display isn't that good, but hey, its a laptop for basic needs not for high level multimedia usage, but still I will say that it does a decent job. 4. The speakers with surround sound are one of the best I have heard and trust me, I have enough experience. CONS: 1. May be the 3rd gen i3 would be better. 2. Lenevo really needs to work on the display, all its recent laptops have the same problems of pixels visible when you are close to the screen. Finally, its the best deal for a tight budget and BEST BACKUP TIME. If you aren't in a tight budget, you can go for the (3254-T3Q) variant at around 40k.

Decent, buy it

I was looking for a durable machine after a bad experience with a Dell consumer model. Thinkpads are legendary machines known for their robustness and highly respected in the corporate world. As the thinkpad line leans so heavily on the corporate markets, typical thinkpads are tough but drab designs. You can have any colour, as long as it is black! The Edge series is a slight departure without deviating too much from the original design. All the essentials are there - excellent build, excellent keyboard, the red track pointer in the middle and the thinkpad software support. What the purists will miss is the metal reinforced body but its absence also does not take away too much in quality of the body. To aim it at consumers and small business owners, Lenovo has kept the prices down by compromising a little and adding a few touches like the red led indicator on the back of the screen and keeping the weight down. Overall I'm impressed with: the build, workmanship, keyboard cannot be easily found in this segment. On the other hand, I'v seen better looking screens, better speakers and better designs in this same price band. This doesn't even have a CAPS or numlock or a Disk light. Try Sony Vaio E series for better oomph factor. If you want a functional machine that is going to last long buy this. If you want better multimedia to watch films or youtube or a great looker, then you are better off with a Sony or Samsung.

Really best thinkpad & worth for money. This suits very well for small business people & also for the developer too. But they need to extra things like RAM up gradation for running Adobe Photoshop & some some other softwares.

Awesome product in this price range

i have only used this laptop for 1 day and i cannot stop myself from writing this review. It is pretty good in all the aspects -- Good battery backup around 6hrs -- very well build and nice finish -- portable i am pretty much satisfied with this buy. the only problem i faced is a battery issue (the battery stopped charging at 38% in linux, after i discharge the battery completely and charged it again to rectify the problem)
