I have been a hardcore thinkpad fan and have used a variety of thinkpad products. Especially the T series rocks. I recently had my T420 fail and wanted to look for a little cheaper replacement. I went with E430.nnI am very disappointed with the build quality of this laptop. The keyboard panel on top left started pealing off in just a day of usage. I thought I have a defective piece and called up flipkart. They promptly agreed to replace mine and I got a brand new one replacing it. just about couple of days, the new one showed the same sign, the top panel pealing off (about 1mm and would start making a locking/unlocking sound when you hold your laptop there).nnAdded to that, the mouse pad is little loose (unlike the first E430). I am fed up with this laptop and dont think I should trouble flipkart for this. I did read reviews before selecting this, as I was ok with all the design flaws (like very small function key letters, lack of leds etc), but over and above these flaws, I didnt expect lenovo to have poor build quality. I have been used to probably the sturdy beast like T series, but still, I am not complaining after couple of years of usage, couple of days, definitely very bad build quality.nnIt is definitely cheaper, but still, it could have been a little better.
I bought the laptop and was happy with the set, however when I tried skyping, I found the camera was not working! So I called the Levono Customer Care, they asked me a whole lot of questions which I answered and then I asked them for the complaint no. they did not give it to me instead they gave me the Service Centre no. When I called Hi-Tech Infomatics, they asked me for the Service Order no. So again I called the Customer Care took the Order no. and then they accepted the laptop. Now, the Service Centre tells me that the Camera has to be replaced and it will take 3-4 working days. However, when I call them they are not taking the call. Leave alone a replacement as the laptop was just a week old!nnAll I want to advise is that if anyone purchasing a laptop from Lenovo, please check that everything is in working order.
Hi Guys,nnYou can prefer this laptop blindly.... The very good product that Thinkpad provides in this range... It may not looks stylish like sony Vaio or any other stylish product, but if you want to use it as a Ruff N Tuff lappy, then I can say its very good.nnAlso speed is not bad, if you are working with several tools simultaneously then you can enhance your RAM up to 4GB which will give you a better speed to work with..nnFor addition info : you can get a lenovo Essential of 3rd gen i5 in 35k but I can say it's far better to work with Thinkpad than any other laptops... Its very user friendly.. nnI think you will fall in love with this once you start working with it.. :)nnOne thing you will face awkward while using all the func. keys ( F1-F12 ). because you have to press these keys along with the "Fn" key...nnnThanks,nSujit :)
I was looking for a laptop for about 30000 rupees, and checked no further than Flipkart for it. I previously owned a 13 Inch Macbook and wanted to purchase a Windows machine now, I found that the only brand in Windows that could match the built quality, durability and reliability of a Mac was the ThinkPad. The image is provides which use you a ThinkPad. It is only used by business user all over the world and not casual users.n5. The build quality of the ThinkPad is SOLID! Very sturdy, you cant hear any cracking from anywhere. You can't shake a thing!n5. The ThinkPad has proved to be durable and reliable than any other brand in the world through constant development and improved technology.n6. ThinkPads accessories are easily available anywhere in world with Lenovos vast coverage. n7. Lenovo provides on site warranty for all its products which no other brand in India provides.n8. Lenovo's service centers are easily accessible in all cities through lenovos wide network.n9. Lenovo provides accidental damage coverage for 1 year by default with all its products which no other laptop manufacturer in India provides.n10. The ThinkPads are used the world over by business executives and other business personals and is very famous among and they only prefer ThinkPads as they need a reliable work machine that doesnt crash when they actually need it. n11. The screen on the ThinkPad e430 is matted not like other laptops that have the glossy screens. Matted screens do not strain our eyes while working for long hour on the machine.n12. All the required Drivers and softwares are easily available on Lenovos website, for you to download install and setup your ThinkPad when you get one.n21. For a business class laptop the ThinkPad e430 has very good speakers with dolby effects and HD sound. I really didnt expect this when i bought one.n22. The official Lenovo website also provides the original ThinkVantage technology softwares from IBM which are very useful and can be downloaded and installed easily for various purposes specially tailored for the ThinkPads.n23. The Trackpad of the e430 has a very good texture feel to it and the side scrolling features work like a charm on the ThinkPad. The Trackpad do not heat up too due to internal heating, like on other brands.n24. The ThinkPad logo is gorgeous on the machine on the front flap and the the palm rest with a red glowing indicator light which notifies on different occasions- Handy!n25. Last but not the least, you are using a ThinkPad , it is designed with IBM original technology and manufacturing facilities and keeps the same quality and features for which the ThinkPad is know and used worldwidennPS: ThinkPads are the only laptops that are allowed by the NASA to be taken on board the International Space Station not any other brand in the world.nnI am sorry, I tried hard but there is hardy any thing that I can notice that is a disadvantage on the laptop or its purchase. Its just perfect! nnIf the ThinkPad fits your requirements and needs GO FOR IT! YOU WONT REGRET ANY PART OF IT!!
Got the delivery 2 days back. Have installed Windows 7 and its running smoothly.nPro -n1. Processor speed is good.n2. Good Audio (Dolby v2.0).n3. Very less heating as compared to my dell laptop.n4. Nice look and feel.nnCons:n1. Video quality is just ok.n2. Touch pad is not up to the standards. You will need a mouse.nnAt this price you can't ask for more.
