Overall OK. Bit slow when it comes to browsing and watching photos, but still worth it for the price.

Summary:nI am adding the summary at the beginning so that you can decide whether to buy this laptop or not.nOne liner: for a 17-18k machine, this is OK as long as you upgrade it to 4gb ram or higher.nnBUY this laptop if you intend to watch movies and use it for word/excel/basic powerpoint slides and are OK with the laptop taking its own sweet time to process stuff. Movies work absolutely fine. photos take a little time to load and it becomes slow with chrome. Chrome uses a LOT of ram, which causes the slowness. IE was better, so was mozilla. The screen is awesome, so is the quality of the keypad and the overall display. i use an external mouse so i didnt care about the touchpad.nnDO NOT buy this laptop if you want a powerhorse that will have enough grunt to run multiple apps and let you do your work while a movie plays in a small window on the side and lots of stuff is being downloaded too. this one is NOT for ultramultitasking. I have used it while a movie was being downloaded, itunes was running and syncing with my ipod and i was looking at photos on an external HDD. it was too much for 2gb RAM(ofcourse) and the whole thing just hung for a bit until I stopped itunes. With more ram it will work FINE, dont worry.nnThe details:nnSo I bought this laptop as a gift, please consider this as a third party view of the laptop. All this was done with the STOCK machine, post which I decided to upgrade it with a SSD and 4gb extra RAM. The review is of the stock machine, not the upgraded one.nnThe things that i did NOT like:nn1. The mousepad is slightly towards the left corner. Nothing i could not get used to, but it is just not "normal".n2. 2gb RAM does not cut it. it needs minimum 4gb. get ready for that upgrade to 4/6/8gb.n3. the machine is overall a bit slow, kinda slower than pentium quad core.nnSlowness explained in detail:n1. it is REALLY difficult to use chrome with multiple tabs open(read facebook will have problems scrolling). IE was a BIT better, but still unacceptably slown2. photos take time loading etc.(I have 8-10mb photos and the default app hardly manages to open them) More ram will fix this.n3. This laptop is inherently a bit slow as the processor is really slow(1.3ghz) and the ram is really barebone.nnHOW TO FIXnnto fix(to a particular level) the slowness, do the following:n1. install minimum 2gb more ram(the more, the better, try swapping this with 2 sticks of 4gb each, making it 8gb. I had an extra 4 gig stick so i made mine 6gb)n2. Install a SSD instead of the HDD and get an external HDD. it DOES make a SUBSTANTIAL difference. n3. Go to windows settings and optimize for performance.nnThe GOOD:n1. screen, its excellent for the pricen2. the overall specs for a budget laptop: for 18k, you really cannot go wrong but do not expect this to do everything. it is not an ALL IN ONE laptop. you're on a budget, remember? this can be the first laptop you get, not a gaming machine.n3. Windows 8.1 is preloaded, which is awesomen4. watching movies is OK from an external HDD. just make sure it is usb3 and you connect it to the USB3 port.n5. watching photos in a slideshow in the included app is kinda difficult for this machine, i dont know why.nnoverall, i would recommend it as a secondary machine or a primary windows machine for someone like me who uses the iPad for 80% of the tasks and the laptop just for watching movies in bed(if i feel like it) and the occasional email and sending out stuff written in word. I already have a licensed version of MS word 2010 so i did not want to spend money on getting word for the iPad.

Worth the money, Phenomenal notebook

As usual, they delivered it in 24hrs. About Product: This notebook is worth every single penny you spent. Its stylish, thin, slick, light weight, huge screen. with very compact spill proof keyboard to give you an error less typing experience. More over it comes with windows 8.1 pre installed. Same notebook when enquired out in a store they charge 5k extra for OS. Go for it its phenomenal.

dead laptop

you need to have a full day spare to open check your mail. Because whatever be the price the laptop is slow that you will scratch your head. so dont waste your money for saving few bucks. The moment I started this laptop. Just used it for 2 days. Till today it is kept aside.
