Best Laptop for an Indian Gamer

I am an avid gamer, and have been waiting for Lenovo y50 to release in India, got it as soon as it was available. So here goes the review.nn---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nnValue for money : nnSame configuration in Alienware MX17 (only difference being screen size) - i7 - 4710MQ, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hybrid HDD, GTX 860M 2 GB is available for Rs. 1,37,000nnDo i need to explain the value for money part any more? I guess not ;)nn---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nnThe Looks : nnIf looks could kill, i would be dead. Yes this laptop is that gorgeous, images cant do justice. Got to hold this baby in your hands and bask your eyes in the glory of the beautiful matte 1080p display and the killer red glowing keyboard.nn---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nnPerformance : GAMING GAMING & more GAMINGnnThe laptop is a breeze with normal tasks and multitasking (1080p movies, photoshop, even tried some zbrush to check rendering speed) and beast when it comes to its core functionality - gaming.nnI can play my favorite games comfortably without having to worry about frame rate or temperaturenn DOTA 2 (60-70fps all settings maxx), Crysis 3 (High settings 45-55 fps), CS: GO (High Settings 60-70 fps).nn---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nnBattery :nnLets be clear, from a powerhouse of a laptop like this, u cannot expect 5 hours battery life in high performance/balanced mode. Its the same as saying that an HTC one/ iphone 5 can last 3 days without charge, of course it can but only when put in power saver mode with minimal usage (P.S. Mr. Jadav Mandal, the note on the website says "up to" 5 hours)nnI have got 3.5 hrs in power saver mode with normal usage, in high performance game mode any gaming laptop won't give u more than 1.5 hrs battery. nnSo no complains there.nn---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nnOther reviews : nnI have already addressed Mr. Jadav Mandal's review. nnNow coming to Mr. CK's reviewn nMy laptop's backspace works fine, so does the ctrl key. I have faced same issues on various machines while working on remote machines. So its a high possibility that your issues are arising out of working on a ramote machine too, If the CTRL key and backspace work fine on your machine but not in the RD then try rebooting your remote terminal.nn---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------nnConclusion - If you want a new laptop for gaming. BUY IT. You will bless me for this review once u get your y50 in your hands.

Best Laptop for for the Price

We got this model from USA with a 512gb SSD... We've done a detailed review on Youtube under the name Nitty Gritty Reviews..You can ask any questions there as well and we'll be able to answer them ... Our Opinions :- It has excellent build quality... Metal lid and bottom... and the palm rest is soft touch finish matte plastic... But it feel really good and it keeps things really cool... The keyboard is quite good... Wont compare to a thinkpad... but preforms pretty good compared to most other laptops out there...Barely any keyboard flex... Had some issues with missing keystrokes initially ... but it was much better after a couple of hours of use.. The red backlight is awesome to look at... and quite helpful The Display is probaby the biggest downside of the laptop...The laptop is almost perfect in everyway... but the display fails to impress..Dont get me wrong... The display good enough for gaming and personal use... But If it had an IPS Panel ... This laptop would've been a product i could've called perfect... The Speakers... Are amazing... Its the best i've heard on a laptop.. The laptop comes with a sub woofer which isnt impressive... but it does perform better than other laptops...and bass is clearer than other laptops where its non existent... but dont expect your table to shake... The GPU is an 860m (Maxwell)... The gpu perform really well...You can run most games in Ultra Settings... and some games like watch dogs can be run in High settings for better fps... Battelfield 4 .. assassincs creed 4 wasnt a problem in ultra... The i7 processor is really powerful...Turbo boost is deactivated when temperatures touch 65C... but honestly... ther performance drop isnt anything to worry about... it performs great.. Battery life is around 4:15 hours...video playback... full brightness... pretty good for a gaming laptop... Overall... im pretty impressed with the laptop... and i'd recommend this over the Y510p which is pretty much the only competition at this price range...

!!!Gaming Beast!!!

HI there people!!nnJust like you people are reading this review, i also did a thorough research on buying this laptop for 2 months.Yeah not just flip kart, but on other Laptop Reviewing Sites too.nnFew Points i would like to write which almost made me reject it OR the terrible fears i have gone through before buying it that too from flip kart.nn==>DISPLAYnYeah Yeah even u people must have been going through dilemma and all the horrible things about it.That it is a second grade old abysmal LCD TN panel. Now, the point is yes i won't deny that screen is a bit compromising feature of it .But the sole reason behind buying this laptop is TO JUST DO HARD CORE GAMING + MOVIES.And i have found nothing "LITERALLY NOTHING" irritating about its display.I have been playing Far Cry 3 for quite some time now and it looks gorgeous on it with every single detail.nnYes the first time i looked on screen, i was not very much happy about it.But then i tried some Calibration settings which worked for me.nn(Another favorable point is you are going to do gaming in your home only not on burz khalifa or Himalaya Mountain.)nnThe drawbacks which have been listed about it comprises bad color display , low brightness in open, bad viewing angles and bla bla,To be honest,i didn't find any ounce of truth in it and it seems full of life. This high sort of color detailing and display properties(flaws) are generally required if you are into Hard Core Animation Development or Display Specific Applications. If such is the case, this laptop is not for you.nnWe gamers needs decent display details and which is what it satisfies completely. Now, coming to movies part.nMy comment would be like this:n"It's great when you are watching alone. It's decent when your whole group of friends and family watching together"!!nnYOU JUST HAVE TO DO CALIBRATION AS PER YOUR VISIBILITY AND ROOM SETTINGS and it will clear all your questions and doubts.nnThere are many videos on youtube depicting the right calibration settings.nnP.S:Even high end ASUS gaming laptops uses TN Panel .Go search it on Google.nn==>Heating: I usually play game for like 4-5 hours straight away.I have played Far Cry 3 a lot on this machine which we all know how graphic intensive it can be.I have never seen it's temp going beyond 60 C.Yes the keyboard (WASD area) gets warm .But then there is a difference between warm and hot.And like i said i researched a lot and i found this comparison analysis of this laptop with one of the MSI Ghost laptop =>nn"This is relatively much cooler than MSI Ghost"nnINFO:nThe cooling vent is in ahead of the laptop just behind Display panel and you need to place it on table. You cannot use it on bed and it will clog the area which is bad for it's healthnn==>Battery Backup:Well, i just want this review to be personal.I didn't buy it for travelling but just gaming. And Stats as it counted:nnBrowsing Watching movies:it gave me 3 hours.(with 15% still remaining)nPlaying Games:1 and a half hour .nnThe above numbers were my exact expectations and obviously you cannot expect more than this from gaming machines.nn==>Touch-pad:I really don't understand why people make fuss about touch-pads.Although i found it quite decent and nice gesture oriented but still if it pisses off some people. Then let me ask them one questionnAren't you going to use mouse with it??nHonestly, if you want some small girl beauties, then please go for Sony Vaio laptops. There are plenty of them out there.nnIt's more like judging a fish ability to climb a tree.nn==>Well this is it. There is nothing else i can write about doubts here.Initially,I was little skeptical about Flip-kart. Obviously, in India you don't put 74 k online but i took risk and bought it online.Great delivery .Great Product.Period.nnGot lenovo bag pack free with it:)nnRest i won't go into performance and specifications as the whole world knows that you cannot and trust me you CANNOT buy such features in this much amount of money.nnDashing looks and even more aggressive performance.nnBest for gaming at this price range.nnYou can say "Gareebo ka Alienware"nnbut it's performance speaks another story.nnnnnGo ahead.nYou won't get disappointed (solely for gaming purpose) nnAnd in case of online purchasing, make sure it is not a defective product.Download laptop benchmark applications and verify all the standards and the hardware stuff.nnPS: I have used lenovo y510p.Found it hotter and bulkier.(Sorrry guys no offense).and yes perfomance is also better coz only single sli version is available in India.nnThanks nAbhishek
