Just got the mobile. Am very impressed to say the least. Falling in love with it. Worthwhile buy, great price. Pros: > Great and easy to use push mail interface - and that too its completely free > Good browsing experience on 3G > Good display > Wifi works great > Sound quality pretty decent > Facebook app works really nicely Cons: > User guide is not too well written. Took me a while to figure out how to get the SIM and memory cards inserted and the phone operational. > Took 2 hours to send across all my contacts from my Nokia 5800 to this phone. For some reason, the bluetooth on the phone accepts only 6 business cards at one time. > Airtel and Vodafone cannot save their settings directly on the phone and both companies tech support refuse to acknowledge that this is 3G mobile. Took me a while to figure out all the settings are already pre-built into the mobile and just need to be selected in the connectivity>WAP>profiles (again manual has no mention of it). After that everything worked like a charm. But overall, a great phone. Much more than value for money! Buy it and enjoy.
I was hesitant to purchase this phone as I was not sure of its performance. I have been using micromax phone for quite some time. Prior to this phone I had a Q 75 and it never gave me any problems. I dropped it once and the body cracked. The phone still worked. It is solid maal. Therefore I decided to buy Q 80 its successor. The main features of the phone aren1. Dual Sim with dual standby. n2. 3G, it works. n3. The opera browser is good. The facebook application by Zenga is simply superbn4. Ezmail, the pushmail software works beyond expectation. The mail can be read clearly. The average time that the Micromax server takes in giving notification is 3 to 5 seconds. n5. The phone is light. nnNow what you don't getn1. No document reader. n2. A good user manual. The user manual is a half hearted attempt of frustrated technical writer.n3. A good technical staff on phone.nnMost of them are unable to give you the correct procedure on how to register for ezmail. For the benefit of the reader, the procedure is n* Go to the webpage of the mail you are using and enable IMAP. It is only then that you will be able to register you email account through the cell phone. I got this information for the helpline on the sixth call. So bottomline ezmail works on IMAP protocol and not POP. If your mail client is not IMAP compliant them forget using ezmail.
I received this phone today from flipkart, from the outlook features of the phone, i felt very much cheated by Micromax. Because the panel is so fragile and the QWERTY pad is very closely placed surely everyone will fumble while typing. Even for getting a battery we have to wait for 15days by paying the Rs.550 amount in advance at the service centre. Also the battery cost is higher than any other brands. Even the silicon cover is provided with the handset by the company is to cover their mistakes. If you drop this phone once accidentally. Better go for another handset rather than repairing it. Because the service charge is that much costlier. My suggestion go for a standard company Mobile phone always, or else it is like putting your money in dust-bin.
I am using this phone since 10 days n found it worth every single penny ...web browsing experience is good, video quality is above average, audio good, dual sim functionality, cool apps (facebook, nimbuzz, newshunt n ezmail). camera average.nnproblems faced: poor battery backup - couldn't last for more than a daynnsmetimes during multitasking it gets restarted...it has happend abt 5 times till nw..
I am using it for last one month. Its a good phone for such a price, worth buying. I recommend buying of this phone. Thanks flipkart for the excellent services. Dual sim, dual camera, 3G and bluetooth, infact all features are good. one drawback I found was non compatibility of micro SD HC cards. It only supports micro SD cards.
