I wanted to move out of Android for a while and this was a good choice. I read the reviews on Lumia series, went to a store and bought one immediately. nPros:n1) Touchscreen is awesome, one of the compelling reason for moving to Lumia. Display is pretty sharpn2) WiFi downloads are fast, very rarely had heating issue (once out of 7 days usage)n3) Camera (both front and main) are pretty good. Front one is 5 megapixels..n4) Battery life is good (I am an average user)n5) Most of the required applications are available in the Microsoft storen6) Tiles looks cool, able to adjust/changing them is interestingn7) Sleek design and pretty handy. Sturdy build quality which you can experience from the time you lay your hands on it.n8) Windows 10 update ready nnCons:n1) No notification light ! No glance screen on this model either :(n2) No Mozilla Firefox support for Windows yet, need to get happy with IE or UC browser.n3) Standard apps (like Whatsapp) updates are coming late for Windowsn4) No data cable (which feels cheap). Headphones quality needs to be improved. n5) Seeing a minor lag/freeze after disconnecting every call. This needs to be fixed.nnOverall: Satisfied with the product. Best Lumia budget phone with good performance.

Lumia 540 is the true successor of Lumia 520. Its has covered many of the mistakes made to the earlier lumia phones. nDesign is great and similar to Lumia 630 and 640. Its better than the bland design of other phones in this catagory.nCamera is also great with 8 MP and flash. Also this isn't like other compay's 8 MP cams has Nokia is always known for their high quality mobile cameras even in the low end.nnProcessor is Snapdragon which is better than Mediatek processors found in most of the Android devices from other companies. Snapdragon always ensures better connectivity and batterylife while never comprimising on performance, this is why most higher end phones have Snapdragon and not Media tek.nnLUMIA DEVICES ALSO HAVE EXCELENT MUSIC QUALITY FROM BOTH SPEAKERS AND EARPHONES. If you are a heavy music listener and mostly uses smartphones for listining to ur music files then Lumia is a must go to device. nLumia phones are style statement and makes u stand out from the crowd. Its what one can be called hip devices.

Undoubtedly Windows is the best OS....Lumia being the flagship product of Microsoft there is no concern regarding the OS or the Hanging Issue like Android... nI was using Lumia 730 Earlier & was very much Happy & Satisfied with that. Unfortunately the PDA got broken & thought to be with Lumia only & thus bought 540. nHowever as far as the performance is concerned there is no GAP to identify. nThere are two issue which need immediate attention by Microsoft Team: n1. Excessive Heating near Earpiece: nAs we know heating of Smart phone is quite normal & nobody can't deny that their phone doesn't heat up while using. But my concern is something different. The heating is near the Earpiece & it's giving a burning sensation in the ear during conversation. As far as My analysis, the root cause may be the positioning of the Hardware & the Processing Unit , which is placed in the Upper part of the Phone. n2. Unable to Update or install Software:nI got the Phone delivered by Flipkart on Saturday, 11-July-2015 & trying to Update & Install the Software since then which is In-Vain. nI've raised My concern to Flipkart Team on 14-July-2015 regarding the Heating Issue & they Came Up with the Trouble-shooting Options on 15-July-2015, which didn't work. Now when I'm asking for the refund of the Amount so that i can get some other Model, They denied to process the refund request, which is really unacceptable on the perview of Customer Service.

This phone is really awesome in this budget. Design is sleek and stylish, phone works very fast, camera is awesome and captures well even in low light. Battery backup is almost 2 days in normal use. So perfect for a common man who wants a good smartphone in budget.
