the moto g4 play is the budget option from Motorola in the 4th gen moto g series, as being under 9,000 rs is it better than its competitors? let's find out. ------------------------------------------ -WHATS IN THE BOX- =================== 1. THE G4 PLAY ITSELF 2. USB CABLE 3. TURBO CHARGER 4. BASIC EARPHONES7 5. MANUALS AND WARRENTY GUIDE. ----------------------------------------- -THE DESIGN AND SCREEN- ========================= The moto g4 play has a full plastic built, it doesn't feel great like the Redmi note 3 in hand. the back and the battery are removable where you will also find the micro sd card slot and dual 4g sim card slot, it supports VoLTE my jio network worked on it just fine. the g4 play is only 137 gm so it feels very light while holding. the g4 play doesn't have the finger print scanner. the only speaker that the g4 play have is the earpiece, it works pretty well for both calls and media consumption. the 5 inch display is decent, it's only 720p but colors looks decent and vibrant, with decent amount of brightness, but the viewing angles are not that great the colors gets washed out in some angles. the display is not better than the Redmi note 3 or the coolpad note 5,but it gets the job done. ------------------------------------------------ -THE PERFORMENCE- =================== the moto g4 play has the snapdragon 410 processor with the adreno 306 gpu and 2 gb of ram, the processor works great for day to day usage and casual gaming, it also handles heavy usage pretty well but the gaming performance is not that good, there is a lot of lagging in heavy games. the multitasking of this phone was pretty average with the 2 gb I was able to only run 4-5 apps in the background. the moto g4 play runs on the android 6.0 marshmallow with the stock android UI on top of it, the UI is very nice it doesn't have much bloatware right out of the box. I personally love the stock android looks, but many people don't like it much. ------------------------------------------ -THE CAMERA- ============= the 8mp rear camera is pretty average, under natural lighting, the dynamic range is okay, with decent color reproduction but sometimes the exposure compensation doesn't work that good, the low light performance is pretty average, there is some noise in the images. the camera does shoot videos in 1080p resolution but again the video quality is pretty average.the front facing 5mp camera is good though the images looks a bit over saturated for me but it is nice. ----------------------------------------- -THE BATTERY- ================ the 2800 mah battery is pretty average as well, you may get a day of battery life on moderate usage. but it is not good for heavy users or gamers. the g4 play does support fast charging and comes with the turbo charger, it takes around 1.30 to 2 hours to get fully charge. ------------------------------------------ -THE PROS- =========== 1. DECENT BUILT 2. DUAL SIM WITH 4G VoLTE SUPPORT 3. MICRO SD CARD SLOT 4. GOOD FOR DAY TO DAY MODERATE USAGE 5. DECENT DISPLAY 6. DECENT SPEAKER -THE CONS- =========== 1. AVERAGE CAMERA 2. AVERAGE BATTERY LIFE 3. NOT GOOD FOR INTENSE GAMING 4. NO FINGERPRINT SCANNER 5. NO GYROSCOPE MEANS NO VR SUPPORT ---------------------------------------- FINAL VERDICT- the moto g4 play is a pretty average smartphone with average specs, it is only good for moderate users and those who love stock android experience, and performance is pretty good at this price range. ---------------------------------------- SO yes of course it is worth buying. ----------------------------------------- THANK YOU
Super mobile excellent performance. Good battery life thanks to Motorola
