The Moto Turbo is a new flagship smartphone with powerful innards. Our review.
Apr 14 2015 By Ketaki BhojnagarwalaThe Moto Turbo is basically the Moto X on steroids. Think of the former as The Hulk, and the latter as Bruce Banner. With its 2K display, powerful processor, larger battery, and improved camera, you can almost picture the Moto Turbo metamorphosing into a ballistic nylon-clad monster front of your eyes. As far as the user experience goes, both smartphones run stock Android, with all the intelligence of Motorola’s software. In terms of the competition, the Samsung Galaxy S6 (first impressions
Read Full ReviewIt has been a month since I am using this phone. Received it on the 16th of April. I am absolutely glad of my purchase but not only wannabe owners of this phone but if Motorola's taking note of feedback take note of a few pointers:nn1. Yes, it does overheat. Not complaining about when its charging (its turbo charging a huge battery in under 2 hours! C'mon) but even when sometimes the screen time crosses 30 minutes with constant data usage (that shouldn't happen and that's concerning!) I complained too but my request for replacement got rejected by flipkart (Go Figure!)nn2. Volume is moderate for watching content on mobile and playing music in a room. Would have hit the sweet spot if there was a dual speaker at the bottom like on the top. (you listening Moto?)nn3. The 2MP front facing camera just seems like a chipped tooth to your snarling 'Beast' 5 MP was a NO BRAINER! Oh and no complaints about the 21MP camera except it would be great to get the 1st click right and not the 3rd or 4th since there is no Optical image stabilizer! (Don't people at Motorola party and click images how does one keep a steady hand then?)nn4. Moto - Do provide a factory seal screen on the display atleast! It just makes you look shabby during the end game!nn5. Potential buyers listen up - here's something that came to my attention more recently after purchase, Moto Turbo comes with 4G support only on 1800 MHz I do not think it supports 2300Mhz which means your 4G eligibility is device & carrier dependent together. Please do your own research before buying else you ll be missing the 4G train despite getting a ticket, a very expensive ticketnn6. Only the above drawbacks makes it seem that the device may have overshot its deserving ceiling price by just about 5-6k. I mean, i wish i had an AM EX credit card but i don't and hence feel overpaid for it slightlynn7. This one may be a stretch to complain about but may for the next version - Water Resistant instead of Water Repellent would have been AWESOME!!!!!!nn8. Another stretch - The bevel at the bottom looks like a double chin. Could save the half inch there if possible.nnOK I ve belted you enough Moto now for a few pats on the backnn1. Good Job. To be the pioneers of the next gen specs at a relatively affordable pricenn2. The colours seem to be protruding from the phone screen. No complaints whatsoever about the display. Its like nothing I ve seen till now.nn3. Moto assist is a brilliant piece of tech. Hope it just evolves with user adaption and updates from your end unlike Siri which was just a fad this one could actually be here to stay and is more functionalnn4. Battery performance is great. Lasts me anywhere between 24-36 hours depending on my use (which is moderate) but never been 48 hours. Still not complaining about that.nn5.Look and feel is awesome. Feels like a real masculine phone with the rugged look not like those other metrosexual M8's and Galaxies and even Xperia for that matternn6. Performance -Yet to subject it to something it can't handle or even stutter on for that matter..nnGtg now.. hit overtime! Overall phone is definite BUY!!
Just received today.........It seems to be perfect as per my expectation; perfect display, weight, ergonomics and feel. Thanks to Flipkart for such express delivery. Expecting Flipkart to introduce the Motorola Flip Cover [Leather Version] for this device at the earliest.
