I bought this yesterday . Cam is good but drawback is dominating the yellow shade. i am unable to capture original picture colors. I put it on auto mode and took the snaps but the cam is failed to capture true colors pic has captured mixed with yellow shade. this is not fair
This nifty bridge camera is a great piece of equipment if you want to take control of how your picture turns out but down want a DSLR. Night time photographs are excellent even at 1600 ISO. Boost it a bit more and then it becomes grainy. The menu system is excellent. Nifty effects like selective colors are present. The ability to take 1080p Videos with stereo sound is also a welcome. The pricier and bulkier Nikon P600 and P530 has the same megapixel count and menu system. They only differ in zoom (42x in p530 vs 60x in P600) and wifi (which the p530 can also have using the nikon wireless adapter or the eye-fi wireless SD card. 42X may sound like small, but trust me at even 20X you WILL need a tripod. No one can keep their hands steady at 42X. Still the P530 at its maximum zoom cover more area than P600. also the aperture at maximum zoom is smaller in P530 mean more light can reach the sensor. So if you dont want a tilting LCD, built in Wifi, and more Zoom (which is of no use, trust me) then just ignore the P600 and embrace this smaller but greater product. And this has better macro capabilities than the P600. You can get very close. After using this camera for more than 2 weeks and using its full Manual controls (PASM modes) Im very satisfied. Though some more features like 1 min max shutter speed (which is 15 seconds in it) and raw shooting capability would have been a very nice addition. Overall Its a nice product in a compact body that bridges the need of a DSLR in a point n shoots body. I rate this 4/5 bcz at same price fujifilm and Panasonic have cameras that can shoot at raw modes. But they also lack 1080p HD video. And Well, we can always trust canon and nikon right?? enjoy your new camera and smile, it has a smile shutter too :)
