Can't get better than this.

I wanted to buy a camera with full manual control, a versatile lens and full HD video capabilities. I zeroed in on Lumix Fz150 since most reviews compared every camera in the category ( Canon SX-40 HS, Nikon P510, Sony HX200V ) to the Fz150 and it always came on top. I tried all the other three in the stores and none of them felt satisfying at all. I even tried the Canon 550D which didn't satisfy my needs - needed something compact and that I won't hesitate from carrying it around because of the weight/volume.nThen when I was just about to buy the Fz-150, it was discontinued and replaced by the fantastic Fz200 with 2.8 constant aperture across the 25-600mm zoom range (whoa!), improved EVF, 12 fps in full-resolution burst mode, high-speed shooting modes (100, 200 fps) and HDR as additions. Though the Fz200 is 10k more expensive than its predecessor and slightly costlier than the mid-level dSLRs (550D) I think the changes make it worth the price ! Btw like a dSLR, this one shoots RAW images. I think I've got "my" perfect camera.nnOnly reasons you might want to go for a dSLR over this-n-Larger image sensor and better low-light performancen-Interchangeable lensesnnThings you'll miss out on if you buy a dSLR over this-n-Crazy long zoom range (24x) Leica lensn-Constant 2.8 aperture across the zoom range!n-Amazing O.I.S. (most noticeable at full 24x zoom)n-12 fps full resolution burst moden-Hi-speed video recordingn-FlipOut display (more expensive dSLRs have this)nnThe FlipKart delivery was prompt as usual. Cheers to FlipKart !

Best Bridge cam out there, for serious amatures..!!

Hello guys, if you are here to buy a Bridge camera for serious photography and videography, then look no further than this because this is the best bridge cam your money can buy and there are a lot of reasons backing my statement, which I will mention as a comparison to its closest rival, the Canon SX50 HS.nnAdvantages of the LUMIX FZ200 over Canon SX50 HS.nn1. The Leica F2.8 lens, throughout the entire zoom range. - Means there is more light coming in, no quality degradation whatsoever, and also you can use faster shutter speeds at the extreme zoom end, even 1/2000 of a sec or more even. Better for those who want to take sports events etc. Canon have a F3.4-6.5.n2. Video - in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. Featuring 60p (NTSC) / 50p (PAL) full HD recording capability, subjects with fast motion or fine details are reproduced clearly. Canon with 24fps on 1080p.n3. Slow motion video - 120fps in HD, and 240 fps at VGA resolution. Canon have 120fps in VGA & 240fps in 320x240, which is not really usable.n4. Shutter speeds - for still Image 60 - 1/4,000 sec, Motion Picture 1/30 - 1/20,000 sec, Creative Video Mode 1/8 - 1/20,000 sec. Canon have 15-1/2000 of a sec in still mode & can't control in video mode.n5. EVF - 1.3 million dots evf, which is just astonishing for a bridge cam & gives you bright view of the field you are shooting in. With refresh rate of 60hz, the evf does not provide any lag or ghosting. Canon have a 202k dots res, which is a pain to use.n6. Power OIS - This image stabilisation is one of the best in the market to date.n7. Light speed AF system - You can go through any reviews and you will see that the AF system by panasonic is the best.n8. Battery - 540 shots per charge...! Things cannot get better than this. Canon have only 320 shots per charge.n9. Shooting modes - Panorama, 3d shots (things that stands out)n10. Fastest - Under 1 sec to start up the camera, and also have 12fps burst mode and 5.5fps with AF Tracking.nnAdvantages of the Canon over the Lumixnn1. Zoom - 50x optical, worlds longest zoom range ever to be in a camera.n2. 24mm at the widest - a bit wider than the FZ200 (with 25mm)n3. Macro - 0cm vs the 1 cm in the FZ200, but its not a big thing.n4. Noise Handling - Handles Noise way better than the FZ200 once you go past 400ISO. But, the F2.8 constant lens in the FZ200 means you won't be needing to use higher ISO settings under low lit conditions.nnThe Lumix FZ150 was the best Bridge cam last year, and the FZ200 extends its reign.nnDon't just go for the brand name, performance matters. Like Nokia said, ''Its not technology that matters, its what you do with it''...!!!

The Hottest Bridge Camera Panasonic FZ200, Believe it!!!

I have recently bought this camera after a lot of thought & research on the internet. The price that it is coming for, rivals entry to mid level DSLRs. Think about it, one can get a Canon 1100D or Nikon 3100D easily at this price. But I strongly feel that the FZ200 sets istelf apart on a number of parameters & betters DSLRs in most of categories with the exception of sensor size. My intial observations after using it for a day are as under:n> Excellent build quality (with the lens hood it looks so upmarket)n> Superb burst mode at full resolution (really works, just try it)n> Crisp clear bright photos with great depth of fieldn> Ability to change ISO,Aperture,Shutter speed & take photos while shooting videos is simply awesome.n> The handheld night shot mode works like a dream. Photo clarity is simply too good at low light (wide angle)n> The intelligent zoom works, phots appear vivid atfull zoom as the f2.8 aperture does its worknnThe carry case feels a little small for a camera of this size & should have been slightly bigger to accomodate the lens hood & charger/chord,etcnThis is my first purchase & association with Panasonic & Im sure it won't let me down. If you need the versatality of high zoom without the incnvenience of changing lenses while on the go, then this is the BEST camera that money can buy, today. Period!!!

It's a FLAGSHIP camera..!!

People have already shared the PROS and CONS (don't find any :P).nSo, I'd like to focus on thinking of most people. nnPanasonic might not be a very popular or famous brand when it comes to cameras (Mentality of most people while buying anything - brand!)nnBut, let me tell you this - when you're buying a flagship model, when you're buying the pioneer in full range F value lens (LEICA), it doesn't matter!nnYou don't have to think twice before buying this product provided that you're comfortable with the cost. I agree that it is a little bit costlier; however, the full range F value (2.8) made me change my mind. Plus, I saw that the most selling competitor right now - Sony HX200v produces lot of noise and the image quality isn't that good although it does have awesome 30x Optical zoom with stablization. nnIt also doesn't support High Speed Video (100 fps in HD..!!)nMother Of God.nnThere's no doubt this is an AWESOME camera from Panasonic.nAnd the reviews aren't even wrong.nnVerdict - Go for it! It won't disappoint you :)

Thorough overall performer be aware of UHS1 issues though

I bought this camera for birding which is one of the trickiest kinds of photography around. Its a brilliant device for all sorts of photography though. Here are some of the best parts - 1) The f2.8 lens is sharp at f2.8 - a rare accomplishment. 2) The camera is brutally fast - AF is quick and sure - I can track birds coming towards me! No visible shutter lag. 3) Very nice EVF - Large, bright, high-resolution Here is the only negative I have for the camera (I have used it for more than six months) - 1) UHS-1 support is only on paper. In practice, it takes 11 seconds to clear the RAW buffer - no matter how fast your card is. This is really sad because speed is where this guy kills and this is a little bit of a letdown. Other Info- -Graham Houghton has a set of very informative videos on how to use the camera on YouTube. This is a complex camera with many many features, and a bad user manual. Graham has got you covered there.
