I wanted to buy a camera with full manual control, a versatile lens and full HD video capabilities. I zeroed in on Lumix Fz150 since most reviews compared every camera in the category ( Canon SX-40 HS, Nikon P510, Sony HX200V ) to the Fz150 and it always came on top. I tried all the other three in the stores and none of them felt satisfying at all. I even tried the Canon 550D which didn't satisfy my needs - needed something compact and that I won't hesitate from carrying it around because of the weight/volume.nThen when I was just about to buy the Fz-150, it was discontinued and replaced by the fantastic Fz200 with 2.8 constant aperture across the 25-600mm zoom range (whoa!), improved EVF, 12 fps in full-resolution burst mode, high-speed shooting modes (100, 200 fps) and HDR as additions. Though the Fz200 is 10k more expensive than its predecessor and slightly costlier than the mid-level dSLRs (550D) I think the changes make it worth the price ! Btw like a dSLR, this one shoots RAW images. I think I've got "my" perfect camera.nnOnly reasons you might want to go for a dSLR over this-n-Larger image sensor and better low-light performancen-Interchangeable lensesnnThings you'll miss out on if you buy a dSLR over this-n-Crazy long zoom range (24x) Leica lensn-Constant 2.8 aperture across the zoom range!n-Amazing O.I.S. (most noticeable at full 24x zoom)n-12 fps full resolution burst moden-Hi-speed video recordingn-FlipOut display (more expensive dSLRs have this)nnThe FlipKart delivery was prompt as usual. Cheers to FlipKart !
Hello guys, if you are here to buy a Bridge camera for serious photography and videography, then look no further than this because this is the best bridge cam your money can buy and there are a lot of reasons backing my statement, which I will mention as a comparison to its closest rival, the Canon SX50 HS.nnAdvantages of the LUMIX FZ200 over Canon SX50 HS.nn1. The Leica F2.8 lens, throughout the entire zoom range. - Means there is more light coming in, no quality degradation whatsoever, and also you can use faster shutter speeds at the extreme zoom end, even 1/2000 of a sec or more even. Better for those who want to take sports events etc. Canon have a F3.4-6.5.n2. Video - in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. Featuring 60p (NTSC) / 50p (PAL) full HD recording capability, subjects with fast motion or fine details are reproduced clearly. Canon with 24fps on 1080p.n3. Slow motion video - 120fps in HD, and 240 fps at VGA resolution. Canon have 120fps in VGA & 240fps in 320x240, which is not really usable.n4. Shutter speeds - for still Image 60 - 1/4,000 sec, Motion Picture 1/30 - 1/20,000 sec, Creative Video Mode 1/8 - 1/20,000 sec. Canon have 15-1/2000 of a sec in still mode & can't control in video mode.n5. EVF - 1.3 million dots evf, which is just astonishing for a bridge cam & gives you bright view of the field you are shooting in. With refresh rate of 60hz, the evf does not provide any lag or ghosting. Canon have a 202k dots res, which is a pain to use.n6. Power OIS - This image stabilisation is one of the best in the market to date.n7. Light speed AF system - You can go through any reviews and you will see that the AF system by panasonic is the best.n8. Battery - 540 shots per charge...! Things cannot get better than this. Canon have only 320 shots per charge.n9. Shooting modes - Panorama, 3d shots (things that stands out)n10. Fastest - Under 1 sec to start up the camera, and also have 12fps burst mode and 5.5fps with AF Tracking.nnAdvantages of the Canon over the Lumixnn1. Zoom - 50x optical, worlds longest zoom range ever to be in a camera.n2. 24mm at the widest - a bit wider than the FZ200 (with 25mm)n3. Macro - 0cm vs the 1 cm in the FZ200, but its not a big thing.n4. Noise Handling - Handles Noise way better than the FZ200 once you go past 400ISO. But, the F2.8 constant lens in the FZ200 means you won't be needing to use higher ISO settings under low lit conditions.nnThe Lumix FZ150 was the best Bridge cam last year, and the FZ200 extends its reign.nnDon't just go for the brand name, performance matters. Like Nokia said, ''Its not technology that matters, its what you do with it''...!!!
