I have one of this Panasonic Window AC and the cooling is very effective and it chills a 200 sq. ft top floor room within a few minutes. I never require it to run below 26-27 C even with extreme heat of north India in May and June. My AC unfortunately had to be installed on south facing window which causes constant sunlight to fall on it through out the day and despite that even on hottest days with temperature around 45C, the cooling was very effective. Just goes to show how much Japanese brands are better than Korean and obviously Chinese ones. nnPros: **************nn1. Excellent cooling, leaves nothing to be desired. You'd be shivering within minutes. nn2. Airflow is great.n n3. Sliding intake cover which makes it easy to take the filter out and clean it regularly. No need to sweat to open the cover. nn3. Good filter, includes separate 2.5 PM filter which traps even smaller pollutant particles. nn4. 100% Copper indoor coil (evaporator) with Blue fin coating. nn5. Button to switch AC compressor on immediately in case of power returning after a power cut. Otherwise you have to wait 3 minutes in other ACs. nn6. Compressor is quite silent and vibrations are minimal. nn7. Special fan which throws condensate water on outside coil when running, which causes better and faster cooling. Make sure the installation person does not remove the rubber stopper from the bottom drain hole, otherwise water will leak and cooling will be less efficient. Also there will be no water dripping from the AC. nn8. Panasonic provides a drain pan in case you want it. nnCons. ****************nn1. Comes with a horrible stone age remote with no LCD screen or night glow buttons which are super small and of same shape. Hugely disappointing. Takes a while to get used to. Only thing I regret about buying this AC. nn2. The temperature display on the unit is in BLUE color as are the rest of the indicator lights. It is just horrible, you cannot tell the digits from a usual distance. Hard to read. nn3. Display shows room temperature all the time, setting temperature will be shown only when you change the temperature. Will have to press temp button twice to change set temperature. Annoying. nn3. Blue display light very distracting at night and you cannot turn it off. nnMostly the pros outweigh cons, so it is a good buy. I have used LG, Samsung ACs and they all leak within two years. Hope Panasonic will perform better.
