Flickr has always been very popular but I stumbled upon it very recently. I was totally blown away by breath-taking pics people have posted there. Oh I so want to capture something like that as well. Got bitten by photography bug & started my deep dive into worlds of SLRs, cameras, lenses, photography, ISO, shutter, aperture, focal length & what not. A person who has always been satisfied with his smartphone camera for regular pics had to learn a lot in this expensive new world. nnMy first job was to get myself an able camera. For those kinda pics - It has to be a DSLR. I went to Chromas, E-zones & Reliance Digitals of the worlds & played with DSLRs of every type & make (they generally keep entry level models of Sony, Nikon & Canon). My budget was not to exceed 25k at the max. (Even 25k is lots of money - I could get a Galaxy Note 2 in that). I realized that my hands ached when I played with those heavy DSLRs for even 15-20 mins, with kit lens - weight is easily 800 -1000 gms . Sony's new release ILCE a3000 was also an option but with 18-55 kit lens - it was roughly 700g. I was sure that lazy fellow like me will never be able to carry this much weight, save for first few initial over-enthusiastic days.nnThen I came across the mirror-less variety of Sony. A lot of research & again a lot of playing around with Sony NEXes at Chroma/Sony Center made my belief stronger that these are the kind of cameras I need to satisfy myself. It can give me a great picture quality & is not too heavy hence easy to carry (~ 350g with 16-50 kit lens). nnMy research suggested that great pic quality comes from - 1) Good lens 2) Relatively bigger Sensor 3) The person behind the camera 4) The scene you are clicking - rest of things like (Viewfinder, screen resolution, tilted screen etc etc) are just tools to make the process easier. Sony NEX 3 offers an APSC sensor which is as good and as big as you can get in entry level/ prosumer DSLRs. 16-50 kit lens is not the best but its more than good for a beginner. This lens also offers a zoom. Rest all the tools to make the process easier is also given n1) Superior auto mode & scene selection will let you just point and shoot - you can add various impacts theren2) Image Stabilization is given in the lensn3) ISO range is till 16000 (though 6400 is what I found was usable) n4) Built in Flash - a luxury which Sony has given in this cameran5) Battery - impressive 480 shots timen6) Screen - not as good as your smartphones but good enoughnnI have tried my hands & clicked some snaps. My observations are - menus are intuitive, helpful & very easy to handle. Camera is very portable - I can carry it in pocket of my track pant. I have clicked very few low light pics - but all r clear n detailed.nnCamera - I got it in 23k using Flipkart's various promotional offers. Flipkart was bang on as usual with delivery & packing. I got a free bag, 4 GB memory card & HDMI Cable which kind of sweetened the deal further.nnOverall, photography is an expensive hobby, but you can cut some of your costs by choosing a camera like this which offers you a lot more at relatively lesser price.
Comes with a Bag and a 4 gb card. Package was not great but was ok.nUsed it for a few days now and found it remarkably good.nProsnHandy with all the needed stuff, Good quality pics, Simple to shoot,nConsnNo dedicated mode dial,Iso range cud have 100,Screen brightness, zoom
