Hello, I have recently bought Sony HX9V. Major features you will like in HX9V is its 3D image capability and extra wide Panoramic Sweep. This camera has 3D Panoramic Sweep also, which is an advantage. It has 16x optical zoom,so don't worry went shooting distant shots. You may think that zoom reduces picture clarity. You are absolutely wrong,HX9V captures vivid and sharp pictures even at full zoom. There are plenty of photo modes to select. When coming to performance, HX9V has 16.1 Mega Pixels with Sony G Lens. You can capture great shots even at low light. Its 3-inch Xtra Fine TruBlack LCD display with the resolution of 921,000 dot pixels makes video playback easy on camera. Its flash is awesome. Other features like Motion Detection, Face Detection, Smile Detection, Blink Detection and In-camera red-eye fix work fine. Full HD movie clarity is superb. Even battery life is great. Cons: Popup like flash,Background defocus sometimes don't work. Conclusion: If you are searching camera around 16,000, its the one. If you want some ease of use and style, please checkout Panasonic Lumix TZ20.According to performance its better than Nikon Coolpix s9100,Lumix TZ20 and Canon XS230. Just get it!!
Just received the camera yesterday and have been shooting stuff till today morning. So thought I might write a review for the heck of it. The good : - Picture clarity is great/awesome/really vivid. I had taken pics on the other high zoom cameras, but this one takes the cake. - 3D photos and panaromic photos, I couldnt get enough of it, plus Sony provides 3 modes in 3D ; one for TV /camera and a hybrid mode - Lots and lots of modes in which to take pictures, plus you can specify shutter speeds My recommendation - if you are looking for something that only shoots good photos, look no further. If you are looking for a cheaper option go for the HXV7 - it has all the features sans the design issues
