Excellent Performance,decent looks.

Hello, I have recently bought Sony HX9V. Major features you will like in HX9V is its 3D image capability and extra wide Panoramic Sweep. This camera has 3D Panoramic Sweep also, which is an advantage. It has 16x optical zoom,so don't worry went shooting distant shots. You may think that zoom reduces picture clarity. You are absolutely wrong,HX9V captures vivid and sharp pictures even at full zoom. There are plenty of photo modes to select. When coming to performance, HX9V has 16.1 Mega Pixels with Sony G Lens. You can capture great shots even at low light. Its 3-inch Xtra Fine TruBlack LCD display with the resolution of 921,000 dot pixels makes video playback easy on camera. Its flash is awesome. Other features like Motion Detection, Face Detection, Smile Detection, Blink Detection and In-camera red-eye fix work fine. Full HD movie clarity is superb. Even battery life is great. Cons: Popup like flash,Background defocus sometimes don't work. Conclusion: If you are searching camera around 16,000, its the one. If you want some ease of use and style, please checkout Panasonic Lumix TZ20.According to performance its better than Nikon Coolpix s9100,Lumix TZ20 and Canon XS230. Just get it!!

Good for Pictures, but will take a little time to get used to

Just received the camera yesterday and have been shooting stuff till today morning. So thought I might write a review for the heck of it. The good : - Picture clarity is great/awesome/really vivid. I had taken pics on the other high zoom cameras, but this one takes the cake. - 3D photos and panaromic photos, I couldnt get enough of it, plus Sony provides 3 modes in 3D ; one for TV /camera and a hybrid mode - Lots and lots of modes in which to take pictures, plus you can specify shutter speeds My recommendation - if you are looking for something that only shoots good photos, look no further. If you are looking for a cheaper option go for the HXV7 - it has all the features sans the design issues

High Zoom , Good quality Video and Compact Size

I recently did some search in the internet before buying my digital camera. I was looking for a compact camera with high zoom and very good video recording. I was also looking for features like long exposure and my budget was around 15,ooo INR. Finally searching a lot in and checking prices in Indian online stores .I narrowed down my search results to Nikon CoolPix S9100/S8200 , Sony Cyber-shot HX9V and Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ20. Panasonic one was having touch screen and 60 sec shutter exposure and 240 fps recording options advantages over the others. However from the reviews I concluded not to go for touch as one has to operate buttons also along with it and I was not sure about this brand in digital camera category. I went to the nearby store and checked Nikon s9100 and Sony HX9V and found that optical image stabilization was way better in HX9V than S9100 and later was not having very good reviews in amazon and other Indian websites. So finally I decided to go for Sony Hx9V. So far I am happy with the camera , tough I have not much chance to use it. I really like the automatic mode , ease of use. Following are the pros I have found till now High zoom with Compact camera Digital zoom quality In-camera charging super image stabilization up to 30 sec long exposure GPS Easy panaroma Super clear playback in the camera Lot of experiments can be done in the manual mode I am sure I will get to know more as I keep using it. Following are the cons Awkward position of the Flash.Left had stops it coming out sometimes, will be used to over the time video/picture is not flat (curved) at the edges when we take wide angle shots (without zoom) but may be it happens whenever wide angle shot are taken using any camera. GPS takes time Recording button is bit small and it starts recording with a delay, you might miss some moments With above feature , I guess I will not miss DSLR much and its easy to carry also. Absolute value for money. I am hopping it will work well without any defects.

The Best Point & Shoot camera out there!

It has every thing, every feature you may ever look into without sacrificing excellent performance. To name a few are AVCHD video recording with continuous focus (The same HD format used in the highly popular Handycams), 3D photography, 3D/FHD panorama, 16x optical zoom, 16.2MP, advanced optical image stabilization (Active SteadyShot) and many many more... You won't regret buying this masterpiece!

A must buy Point & Shoot Camera

This is an amazing camera with fully loaded features. If you are a first time Digital Camera buyer and want a camera above 15K then this is the best one to go with. The picture quality is amazing in both Bright Light & Low Light. HD video is superb, and viewing it on HDTV is awesome, it will make you feel as if you shot it on an expensive Video Camera. For a general and home use with 16.2 MP & 16X Zoom is quite sufficient at this price. {For flipkart: Service amazing, but this time there was a delay in shipment but can be understood as its the time of "Diwali".
