I was very excited to order the sony vaio laptop,but once it came its performance really did'nt come close to my expectations.Being my 1st time to use sony vaio, i always admired one that belonged to a colleague of mine and decided to get my own,but the performance is so poor,it takes almost 4 mins to shut down or sign in,and i have'nt even saved any data in it to lower its performance. I truely regret buying it, and am trying to find alternate means to exchange it for another laptop brand, i am truely diasappointed in this product..
got the item within 1 day ( 1st order was cancelled after 8-9 days due to non availability) of ordering , good packing , service . Now about the laptop like all sony laptops this 1 is bloated to the brink with useless junk (previous lappie vaio cr 313h) and was quite unstable spent half day removing unwanted programs even then the problems were still present so did a factory reset and now it is somewhat satisfactory . 1 thing when u buy this laptop is do a factory reset or your system will not perform optimally ( got BSOD error thrice ). Now for the speed it is just about ok i suppose adding another 2 gigs of ram will do the trick and speed the system up . i used nova tech for ranking and got a score of 360 (highest is 720 ) so i suppose it is ok for a laptop at this price , win 7 rating 4.5 (graphics )considering even mobiles now cost upwards of 40k what more can u expect from a 30k laptop. overall sound very good , in headphones also is very clear (EP 630) bluetooth stereo also is good (mw600) . camera is still like my 4 yr old lappie my mobile camera is better it is more like a vga office starter sucks uninstalled it and added office 2007 working nicely , trend micro is very good antivirus ((3months sub) web browsing is also average . (My 5 yr old c2d is faster than this lappie) . 1 main point is if u r a regular office user the numpad is great , trackpad also good , very small arrow keys (u'll always hit the wrong key) so it is better to try it at a store before buying loading time is ok 1 min for booting and appx 1.5 min for shutdown . not used sleep n charge till now (usb 3 port) screen is warm (i prefer cool) battery - get almost the said times 3-4 hours watching movies is also good on the 15.5 inch screen then also there are 2 versions of some softwares installed ie 32 bit and 64 bit (whats up with these mfts) to round it up the main flaw with the laptop is the bloated software otherwise it is a good buy at this price list of software (bloatware )uninstalled =after reinstall (BTW it takes appx 1.5 hours for a factory reset ) adobe photoshop (3gb) vaio wallpapers microsft office starter vaio bravia trackid vaio ps3 keyboard (why keep it when i dont own a ps3) vaio gate (i suppose it's a copy of apple dock,totally useless all links to some or the other website ps: takes a lot of memory) vaio gate default media go (for media transfer ) vaio play memories and other 4-5 vaio softwares uninstall these and u should have a decent speed for ur os the laptop bag is a local sony branded backpack and not from tagarus. AND LASTLY U DONT GET ANY MEDIA SO FIRST CREATE THE BACKUP DVD'S (4 DVD'S OR A 16GB PEN DRIVE)
Comes with an updated processor and chipset compared to other dual core models available, has good build quality and performs well for daily usage and office works. The display and sound is good for watching movies.I have upgraded my ram at the time of purchase to 4gb so multitasking is no issue. Comes with win7 preloaded and the recent upgrade offer to win8 pro at 699 makes it a good deal. Overalll a very satisfactory buy for me. Recomended!
