I purchased this sony VAIO from a Exclusive Sony showroom, at that time it was not in Flipkart. nnI am a Computer Science Engineer and its my first VAIO but third laptop I owned. I have used HCL, DELL, LENOVO(Think Pad, Idea Pad), HP/Compaq, Fujitsu. nnPros:- nAmazing looksnNice LED screen for a 1366 x 768 (not Full HD not Touch)nUSB 3 is powered even when laptop is in sleep mode or Off with the the adapter OnnReally soft and good keyboard.nVery powerful( core i7, 2gb Radeon, 8gb ram(upgraded ))nInstant Wake up.nWorks amazing with Sony Bravia even with 3D, Audio is over HDMI.n=============================UPDATE(12.2.2014)====================nI have Upgraded RAM to 12 GB i.e 8+4.( I am still testing it; It was recommended to 8 GB only,its been an year and no Issues)nnI have used It with Sony Bravia in 3D mode. Amazing Output !!!!!!nnI have run 6 Virtual Machines All at once using VM Ware workstation for a certain simulation, among them 2 Linux Servers,and a Win 2k8 server. And yes it performed amazing....(With a Cooling pad) nnI have Used it for Network Simulations Running GSN3 With 4 to 6 Network Devices , Cisco Unified Communication Manager , Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco Unified Presence Server with 4 Win xp Running a Cisco IP Communicator all at once.n(With a Cooling pad) nnI have Run Excel Calculations ,That took 5 to 6 hours on a Dual core machine, in 30 Mins nnI have not faced any issues and nor did i ever need to re install. nnCons:-nDelicate ( Check the issue below)nBattery backup is 2.5 hrs Normal operation.(Higher config config Samsung had 5 hrs) n(UPDATE: I Have seen it last 3 Hours at times)nnISSUE:-nOne month science I purchased I saw the impression of the keyboard on my screen, on the bezel near the Sony logo and webcam. The impressions are getting deeper though I keep my screen and keyboard clean since its white in color and cleaning has no effect. nnMY OBSERVATION:- nThe lid is not strong enough that a little pressure makes the screen touch the keyboard. Even carrying the laptop in your hand might exert enough pressure.The screen is a LED to a little pressure is enough to make an impression. nnWHAT VAIO CARE HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT:-n1> "You must use silicon cover for the keyboard" n2> "Blame me that I keeping heavy things on the laptop" n3> "Pressure exerted by my hands when I hold it" n4> [MY personal BEST] "To make it look good they made it DELICATE and ITS MY FAULT THAT I PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT"n nnMy review:-(Updated 12.2.2014)nIt does hurt you when you look at the screen impressions and VAIO CARE but when you press that power button and the back lit lights up and the way it performs and the load it can take are good enough to make you forget the pain and put a smile on your face, I would say its a Product that still makes me keep faith in Vaio , Just the product )nnSo I am going from 2* to 4*
All this comment are fake. i use this laptop since 3 month and i didn't find any type of mistake in it. i play counter strike, g.t.a. 4, fifa 11, resident evil, nfs the run, call on duty and many more and i didn't find any type of problem while playing this game. this is very good laptop at this price.
Reinstalling the OS corrects the problem with TurboBoost!!!nI have used the recovery disks.nYou must uninstall the Vaio Care program and all other unwanted Sony applications so that windows loads quickly.nnThis is a great laptop. The only problem is low battery backup.
Needs a call to customer care very Next day of delivery.nEarlier Dual Core was better.nThe Turbo boost Technology is not visible in the System nor bios, (Dell you can see in the monitor), Clock speed never goes above 2.1.nCustomer care says onsite warranty is for hardware, nThey sent one doc file to improve speed, & suggested following:nReisntall OS,nStop Windows Updates,nDisable all startup items, enable only 2-3,nVisit the Service Centre,nThey say if the laptop is running slow its not their responsibility.nI really don't know what to do?nTrue, Its a junk, dont even think of buying it.................nI bought it on 13/09/12
