There is no such option provided by Moto in their User Interface. However, if you want to record your calls, you can definitely go with some call recording apps that satisfy the feature. ACR Call Recorder would be my pick as it is lite, simplistic and user-friendly that helps in making any person understand its features and usage.

The Moto G5 and G5 Plus come with a fingerprint scanner at its front that can be used for quickly unlocking the device.But to hide or protect your apps I would suggest you use App lock.Heres how.
Now, whenever you open a locked application, you can either unlock it by simply verifying your fingerprint or by entering the unlock pattern. The fingerprints that you have registered for unlocking your device are the ones that will also work with App Lock.
Here is the video guide to do the same

To chrome cast your device follow this steps-;

Set the input on your TV to the HDMI port where Chromecast is connected.

I think it is a problem in Moto G series phones for screen mirroring. It should be rooted to enable it. They disabled it because wifi and casting cannot be done at the same time because of hardware limitations.
Other mobiles which are able to do it must not have this hardware limitation (or inspite of this hardware limitation they would have enabled it). My Lenovo Vibe P1 detects the TV and does the screen mirroring (Cast Screen/Wireless Display in the menu) although speed and clarity is not that great.
What you can try is install Smart View from Samsung or Screen Stream Mirroring to cast/stream the media content from your mobile to the TV if your TV comes inbuilt with wifi (and some sort of content sharing feature). It cant exactly mirror your phone but play the media contents!

Follow these steps to setup WiFi Hotspot:
1. Turn off Wi-Fi power by touching Apps Image > Settings > Under Wireless & networks turn Wi-Fi Off.
2.From the home screen, touch Apps Image > Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot > Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to turn on the hotspot.
3.Touch Set up Wi-Fi hotspot to change hotspot security and configuration settings:
a. Network SSID - Enter a unique name for your hotspot
b. Security - Select the type of security you want, and touch Save: WEP, WPA, or WPA2
c. Password - Enter a unique password. Other users can access your Wi-Fi hotspot only if they enter the correct password.
Note: Keep it secure. To protect your phone and hotspot from unauthorized access, it is strongly recommended that you set up hotspot Security (WPA2 is the most secure), including password.
Touch Save when the settings are complete. When your Wi-Fi hotspot is active, other Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect by entering your hotspots SSID, selecting a Security type, and entering the correct Wireless password.
Most of the android devices gets heated due to excessive usage but as soon as you close the apps it should come to normal. Moto G5s plus does not have any major heating issue as such. Moto G5s plus
