“The Nokia X is expected to come with a display notch and dual camera module on the back”
HMD Global-owned Nokia is all set to launch its first X-series smartphone at an event in China on May 16th. We have already seen live images with alleged posters of the upcoming Nokia X (aka Nokia X6) in the past. The brand then took to its Weibo account to share the first official image of the smartphone and confirm the May 16th launch. Now, ahead of the official launch, the Nokia X has been spotted on Chinese certification website, TENAA, with renders and key specs.
The TENAA listing of the smartphone reveals the model number to be Nokia TA-1099. In the images, we can see the smartphone with a metal unibody chassis and slimmer bezels on the front, with Nokia branding in the lower right corner. We know from the official image that the Nokia X will sport a taller-than-usual display with a notch cut out at the top, and Nokia branding in the center of the lower bezel. Clearly, this information is contradicted by the newly unveiled TENAA render. In the TENAA render, the rear panel of the smartphone is seen housing a dual camera module accompanied by an LED flash and fingerprint scanner. The power and volume buttons are placed on the right edge and SIM slot on the left.
Coming to the spec sheet of the handset, the TENAA listing suggests that the smartphone will come with a 5.8-inch display bearing a screen resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. The handset measures 147.2mm x 70.98mm x 7.99mm and weighs 151gms. There is a 1.8GHz octa-core processor powering the phone, which is likely to be the Snapdragon 636. The listing also reveals that the upcoming smartphone might come with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM along with 32GB/64GB of storage. In the imaging department, the primary camera on the rear is suggested to be a 16MP unit, while the front-facing shooter is expected to be a 16MP sensor as well. Out of the box, the Nokia X has been tipped to run Android 8.1 Oreo and be powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
The listing also reveals that the upcoming smartphone will be offered in blue, black, silver, and white hues. We will bring you more accurate details about the smartphone once it goes official on May 16th, stay tuned.
