Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to go on pre-orders in India starting August 19th

Samsung has already announced that it will unveil the next-generation Galaxy Note 9 at its Unpacked event to be held in New York on August 9th. The smartphone will be rolled out globally in multiple countries at the same time as hinted by various certification listings. 91mobiles has now learnt from its industry sources that the handset will be launched in India within a week of the global launch, between August 12th and August 16th.

According to our sources, the smartphone will go up for pre-booking starting August 19th in India. We also learnt that the phone will go on commercial sale in the country starting the first week of September. However, the exact date of the regular sale isn’t known at this point. Moreover, we’ve learnt that the Galaxy Note 9 will be priced between Rs 70,000 and Rs 75,000 for the base model. As per the information we’ve received, the handset is likely to carry a sticker price of Rs 72,990.

Coming to the rumoured spec sheet, the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to come with a 6.4-inch Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and Quad HD+ resolution. The smartphone is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 845 for the US and Exynos 9810 SoC for the other markets like India. The processor is further tipped to be backed by 6GB RAM. The handset will be available in three storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The phone is also expected to come with the same pair of 12MP shooters on the rear panel with the dual aperture of f/1.5 and f/2.4 for the primary camera, similar to the Galaxy S9 (review) and S9+ (review). Other rumoured specs include a beefy 4,000mAh battery and advanced S-Pen stylus.
