“The Xperia XZ2 Pro could arrive with a 5.8-inch screen and a 3,400mAh battery”
[Update: June 6th, 2018]: The TENAA listing of the purported Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro have been updated with images of the phone. The images suggest that the handset will feature a dual primary camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
At this year’s MWC in Barcelona in February, Sony introduced the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact (first impressions) as its first smartphones rocking 18:9 displays. In April, the Japanese tech giant unveiled the Xperia XZ2 Premium, which was Sony’s first smartphone with dual primary cameras. If the rumour mill is to be believed, the brand has also been working on the Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro flagship for a while. Now, the purported Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro has been spotted on TENAA.
The alleged Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro has been listed on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website under the model number H8166. The listing reveals that the phone could feature a 5.8-inch display of unknown resolution. The Android-based offering will be fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery, suggests TENAA. The certification also indicates that the phone will feature dual-SIM slots.
Sadly, no other information about the specs of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro have been revealed by the certification agency’s listing. If the earlier reports are to be believed, the handset could flaunt an 18:9 display and Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. We expect the rumour mill to reveal more details about the phone in the near future.
