Xiaomi’s upcoming budget offering, the Redmi Note 5A, was recently spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. Now the company has announced that the phone will be unveiled at an event in its home market of China on August 21st i.e. Monday. The device will see the light of the day at 7.30pm China time (5pm IST).
While Xiaomi hasn’t revealed any specs of the Redmi Note 5A, the company’s Co-founder and President Bin Lin has posted some official images of the device. The photos reveal that it will sport an all-metal unibody design and come in three colours – gold, rose gold and silver. The phone’s listing on TENAA revealed that it could launch in two variants. The higher-end model of the phone will come with a Snapdragon 430 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 13MP main camera. The toned-down variant of the handset will offer a Snapdragon 425 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and an 8MP main camera.
The other specs of the Redmi Note 5A revealed by TENAA include a 5.5-inch HD display, a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, a fingerprint sensor, Android Nougat, Infrared sensor and a 3,000mAh battery. The phone is expected to be launched in the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment.
