Display and Design
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 carries a 4.5-inch multi touch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 207ppi. The main attraction of the device, as the name suggests, its its 10mm thick outfit which has a weight of 154g and is IP67 certified which means that it can resist dust and drops in 1m water for 30 minutes. It also carries MIL STD 810G certification i.e. it stays unaffected by vibration, thermal shock, salt, solar radiation, humidity, dust, vibration and rain. Below the display, there are three physical buttons as well.
Configuration and OS
The smartphone is driven by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB RAM thereby ensuring robust performance. It runs on Android v4.4 KitKat OS which is further upgradable to the latest 5.0 Lollipop OS.
Camera and Storage
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 carries a 5MP autofocus camera which supports LED flash and can capture photos and videos even in water. It is accompanied by a 2MP front camera. It comes with 8GB of internal memory which is further expandable up to 32GB.
Battery and Connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is fuelled by a 2,200mAh Li-ion battery and can be connected via 4G LTE (specific regions), 3G, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, tethering, Bluetooth, OTA sync, USB port, Wi-Fi and computer sync.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 has been designed to execute the tasks of a smartphone even under extremely harsh conditions. Being a mid-range device, it poses standard features but lacks HD display.
