Overall Expert Rating (3.5 Out of 5 based on 2 ratings)
A refresh, instead of a proper upgrade. A replacement model rather than a successor. Is the Sony Xperia SL aiming too low? Many will probably say so, but you can`t blame Sony for trying to extend the life of a pretty solid smartphone and one of its best-received handsets. The Sony Xperia SL might not tempt anyone already owning the Xperia S to upgrade, but then again that`s where the Xperia T steps in. The new Sony smartphone takes the path of th...
Verdict: Sony has finally caught up with the competition in the Android mobile space. Once plagued by update issues and lack of powerful processing skills, the Xperia smartphones played an underhanded role and failed to make a serious impact, giving way to bo...
Sony did with the Xperia SL what it did with the Xperia arc and arc S last year u2013 a new version with more colors, newer Android version, and souped-up processor speed. The only notable difference between the specs of the Xperia S and the SL, is that......
Pros: 32GB memory makes the phone good value for money ; Fast camera with good photo and video quality ; HD display with very high pixel density ; Distinctive design with a transparent illuminated strip ; Good call quality
Cons: The capacitive button dots are hard to spot and not responsive ; Chubby for a 4.3-incher ; Screen`s horizontal viewing angles could be better
Verdict: With the Xperia SL, Sony introduces only marginal improvements over the Xperia S, like a slightly faster processor and new color schemes. It is shipping with Android ICS out of the box, which the Xperia S also received, though, and both now support.....
Last year Sony had the Xperia Arc, followed by the Xperia Arc S, which had a faster processor, more colors and a newer version of Android. Apparently that worked so well that they’ve seen it fit to do a repeat performance with the Xperia S and the Sony Xperia SL this year. The only notable differences between the two though, is that the Dual-Core Snapdragon S3 processor went from 1.5Ghz to 1.7Ghz on the Xperia SL. I was tempted to just copy...
Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon chipset, Dual core 1.7GHz processor, GPU Adreno 220 graphics, 32GB non-expandable memory, 4.3 inches display screen, Display Resolution 720 x 1280 pixels, 12MP primary camera, Camera Resolution 4000 x 3000 pixels The all new Sony Xperia SL Smartphone is something everyone is getting tempted to, thanks to the excellent features and functionalities it offers. Based on th...
Sony released a refresh of the Xperia S back in August and the reason you might not have heard about it is because Sony just quietly slipped it in. There’s a good reason for this since the Xperia SL is exactly the same as the Xperia S, except for two things – a slightly faster CPU and Android 4.0. Apart from this, the new phone appears to be a near carbon copy of the old one and as expected, is priced at the same price point as the ol...
