We have a Macbook Air, a desktop, a Windows laptop and a Nexus 7 but the laptop that everyone reaches for is the humble Chromebook. It is always on - which means you can start using it as soon as you open the lid - no need to shut down. It has a fantastic battery life that rivals the Macbook Air, it is super fast for browsing - as fast as any of our other computers. On a flight you can easily watch movies from a pendrive or an external drive. My mother who always found computers intimidating uses the Chromebook ll the time. It is impossible to go wrong with a Chromebook. Highly recommend.
It is a very good concept and product. Fast and convenient. Few things. There is very little storage space so be prepared to have all data in external hard drive. You won't be able to print via USB so make sure you have a Cloud printer. Integration with Google Apps is great. But you won't be able to use Skype and full version of Office Apps
