The Acer Aspire ES1-531 (NX.MZ8SI.009) is a nice choice if you are tight at budget and is looking forward to buy laptop for day to day usage. The battery backup is good and the RAM also renders great performance in the system while working. However, running limited apps and games are suitable due to the presence of mediocre processor.

Display and Configuration

The Acer Aspire ES1-531 (NX.MZ8SI.009) laptop comes with a 15.6-inch active matrix TFT colour LCD LED display and features a screen resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. For running the system, there is a 1.6GHz Intel celeron dual core N3050 processor assisted by 4GB of DDR3 RAM and inbuilt Intel HD graphics engine. For better multitasking performance, the user can expand the RAM capacity upto 8GB. The laptop boots on Linux operating system sailing upon 64-bit architecture.

Camera and Connectivity

There is a webcam present above the bezel which comes in handy for the user for video calling and recording purposes. The laptop offers a wider range of connectivity options such as Ethernet 10/100/1000 BASE-T, Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, two USB 2.0 slots, one USB 3.0 slot, an HDMI out, a digital media reader, a microphone jack and a headphone jack.

Input Devices, Battery and Storage

A touchpad with multi-touch gesture support and a standard keyboard are the input devices which are quick to respond. One can also make use an 8x DVD writer for maintaining backup copies when needed. The laptop sips its juice from a 3 cell li-po battery which claims to render a backup upto 4.5 hours. A 500GB SATA hard disk is available to take care of the user’s storage needs.
