The Acer TravelMate TMP246 (NX.V9VAA.002) is designed for handling standard computing tasks smoothly. The tag TravelMate is definitely misleading as its dimensions are far from that of netbooks as well as ultrabooks. But then, it comes at a standard price.

Display and Outfit

The Acer TravelMate TMP246 (NX.V9VAA.002) carries a 14-inch ActiveMatrix TFT Colour LCD LED backlit display with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. It is housed inside a stylish black coloured outfit which measures 30.3mm around the waist and has a weight of 2.3kg.

Configuration and OS

For driving its processes, the laptop is equipped with a 1.8GHz Intel Core i3 processor from the fourth generation series. Assisting it in executing multitasking is a standard 4GB DDR3 RAM which is further upgradable to 16GB using the two unused DIMM slots. Rich videos and games are managed by the integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics unit. It sails on 64 bit Windows 7 Professional OS, apt for doing business.

Camera, Storage and Multimedia

The Acer TravelMate TMP246 (NX.V9VAA.002) houses an AcerCrystal Eye HD webcam and inbuilt microphone for taking care of your online video calling needs. The 500GB SATA hard disk provides plenty of space for creating a library of files and folders. It also gets a DVD Writer so that you can transfer files through disks at ease. It has stereo speakers to provide decent multimedia experience.

Battery and Connectivity

Keeping the Acer TravelMate TMP246 (NX.V9VAA.002) juiced up for a decent amount of time is a 6 cell Li-ion battery. The networking and connectivity features loaded in the device include Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth v4.0, WLAN, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 slot, HDMI out, digital media reader and VGA port.
