The Apple iPad Pro 9.7 WiFi Cellular 256GB is the most high-end offering from the Cupertino tech giant in the 9.7-inch tablet segment. It offers a premium head-turning design complete with the Apple Pencil stylus and Smart Keyboard accessories support. The slate gets a powerful processor, excellent internal memory, fingerprint sensor for data security and an excellent display. However, it is very expensive when compared to the Android-powered slates, which offer high-end specs at budget-friendly prices.

Display and design

The Apple iPad Pro 9.7 WiFi Cellular 256GB is the most powerful and feature-loaded 9.7-inch tablet from the Cupertino tech giant. The slate flaunts a 9.7-inch screen bearing Retina resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. The slate offers a bright and colour-rich display with a pixel density of 264ppi. The screen of the slate also gets an anti-reflective coating, and is also fingerprint and smudges resistant. As for the design, the slate flaunts a metal unibody design, which is both durable and appealing. It measures 6.1mm around the waist and weighs 444 grams. The slate also gets four speakers on each corner to deliver an excellent media experience.

Configuration and OS

Similar to the Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch variant, the smaller iPad Pro 9.7-inch is powered by the Apple A9X processor, which delivers a lag-free user experience. It is capable of handling high-end media-related apps and graphics-hungry games. The performance is further enhanced by 2-gigs of RAM and an Apple M9 co-processor. It offers the highest amount of internal memory of 256GB in the iPad Pro 9.7-inch lineup. Software-wise, the slate runs iOS 9.3, which comes with several user-friendly features like split-screen multitasking, Night Shift mode to reduce eye-strain at night and a secure Notes app. It is a suitable tablet for designers, since the slate comes with the Apple Pencil support to draw and create content. It can also be attached to a Smart Keyboard accessory to be used like a laptop.

The iPad Pro 9.7 WiFi Cellular boasts a 12-meg primary iSight camera with a TrueTone LED flash, which is the first on an iPad. It also comes with Focus Pixels, 4K video recording, Live Photos and more. For selfie-lovers, the slate gets a 5-meg FaceTime HD front snapper, which supports Retina Flash that lets users capture quality selfies in low light conditions by using the display as LED flash.

It supports India's both FDD-LTE band 3 and TDD-LTE band 40 4G networks, and comes with dual-band Wi-Fi with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 and A-GPS.
