after years of building my own pcs to my satisfaction, but always getting stuck with silly oem configs for my laptops, i finally took the plunge, and boy isnt it worth it! no more substandard hardware, bloated up software, & compromised build quality..!nthe macbook pro is every bit the legend as it deserves to be known as. Its premium all the way, from the box in which it comes, to the power adapter, to the device, its inch perfect! this is the top end version for the 13" model as available in india. in the us, it can be further customised to have an i7, 1tb SSD, 16gb ram config. so if youve got relatives.......... ahem..nnyes its costly and yes its a bit of a change from a typical windows environment. nBUT ITS WORTH IT... if you dont require serious gaming performance or graphics intensive work, go for the air range. its cheaper but still very capable! and super portable!! light to medium coding and development (web, asp.net sql dbases, etc) are not an issue at all & run super smooth...nsuper fast boot-up and shut down times (about 3 seconds each), and everything in between! superb battery life, which is better on the 13" than the 15" by an hour.. plus it works with windows!nni installed original windows 8.1 pro x64 using bootcamp, without any issues whatsoever (just took some time to create the usb boot disk), and it runs better that any windows pc ive experienced. additionally i installed parallels9 & used the bootcamp partition to create a VM, and now i can enjoy both Win8.1 and OSX together, without hitch. word of advise - use original software, live free with peace (& regular updates!)!nsince windows environment is important to me, i researched a lot before buying this and doing all these things. so im mentioning it here outright so that it clears any doubts. for those who dont understand what these things are, just ignore the last section. And for everyone else, all details are available on the company forums. Just follow the steps & ur on ur way to mac+windows nirvana!nBeen using for a month now, and everything is brilliant! A wonderful machine which is portable, light, and blazing fast. Apple Mavericks, is a charmingly different OS and far better than Windows. An amazing battery life, great screen, keyboard, gesture based mouse pad. Worth the money! Strongly suggest to go for this model as the laptop cannot be upgraded later.
