Asus X550LD-XX082D Laptop (Core i7 4th Gen/8 GB/1 TB/DOS/2 GB)

Be warned due to it touch pad issues this doesn't work on Ubuntu, even external mouse is extremely buggy and unusable.

I ordered this laptop on the 9th of May and received it on the 14th (yesterday). I researched a lot before settling on this laptop as it gave the best specifications in this price range. Coming back to the laptop itself, its quite good. The performance is satisfactory (though nothing stellar). I have yet to push the laptop to it's limits by gaming and putting it under heavy load, but I have a feeling that it will handle it just fine.nnThere were a few niggles with this order that I would like to specifically mention. Nothing of a deal breaker but just minor annoyances:nn1) The seller is listed as "Scion" on the website but is actually "Icons".n2) The packaging was sufficient but was not great. I wish it had been padded better.n3) The laptop box itself was opened i.e. the seal was broken and the battery had already been inserted into the laptop. Though nothing seemed amiss, I would have preferred if the box was delivered as is rather than being opened even once.n4) The documentation and manuals are beyond useless. Do not expect much help out of them. Was trying to figure out how to boot from USB and get the Quick Boot option but couldn't find them mentioned in the manual. It's "Esc" key if anyone else is wondering.n5) The keys are incredibly stiff and I frequently miss out on random letters. This is incredibly annoying as I need to deliberately type harder to compensate for it.n6) The drivers are a pain to install. The process itself is automated, sure, but the drivers take an eternity to install. And it automatically restarts after installing each driver! Not even a confirmation or a prompt. It just restarts itself. Managed to install around 8 drivers with 14 restarts before I finally gave up.n7) The display seems a bit dull. The colours don't seem very vivid even on the brightest setting. You can tweak the display to your liking with the calibration tool but I prefer to stay with the defaults.nnThis was my first big purchase from Flipkart (> 50k) and I was doubly apprehensive because I did not know what to expect and besides the seller was not WS Retail. But after receiving the order, I can't say I am disappointed. The experience has made me more confident about purchasing such stuff online.nnTo conclude, if you are on a tight budget and are looking for a mid to high end workhorse/gaming PC, this laptop will suit your needs just fine.nn(P.S. - The build quality of this laptop if fantastic and deserves a special mention of it's own. It feels sturdy, solid, durable and light and the finish on the lid is very pleasant to the touch)
