boltt ACE 5G 128GB 8GB RAM Expert Review Summary
Expert Rating:
![Dhruv Joshi]()
Verdict
The Boltt Ace is a great first attempt at a budget 5G phone from a new brand. It ticks the basic boxes with its 120Hz display, snappy software and reliable everyday performance. The 6,000mAh battery should also last an entire day for most users. However, there are some drawbacks: the cameras need some tuning, while the speakers aren't as loud as competitors. For Rs 14,999, however, the phone gets a lot more right.
Pros
- Good, comfortable design
- Smooth 120Hz display
- Reliable performance
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Camera processing could be better
- Slow charging speed
Design: it is a bit heavy
+
The Boltt Ace 5G is a fairly large and hefty phone, with a practical design that includes well-placed buttons and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The plastic build feels budget-friendly, though, and the lack of an official IP rating is a drawback. There are some clear trade-offs, especially when it comes to weight and durability.

Display: good enough for most
+
The Boltt Ace 5G's 6.79-inch 120Hz display offers a smooth experience for everyday use, with a large screen that works well for videos and social media. The HD+ resolution is a reasonable compromise at this price, although colours could have been punchier. Outdoor visibility is also average, especially under direct sunlight.

Performance and software: reliable for everyday use
+
The Boltt Ace 5G delivers reasonable everyday performance with the Unisoc T8200. Gaming is fine for simpler titles, but demanding games expose its limits. The near-stock Android software helps keep things clean and responsive; however, it lacks the polish of more established brands.

Cameras: a point-and-shoot experience
+
The Boltt Ace 5G's cameras are functional enough for casual use, with the 64MP main camera delivering satisfactory detail in good lighting, although the hazy output may not appeal to everyone. Night photography is a clear weak spot, while the 8MP selfie camera does a decent job with skin tones and detail in good lighting.

Battery: a full day of power for most users
+
The Boltt Ace 5G's 6,000mAh battery delivers decent endurance, with around 6 hours of screen-on time, leaving 10-20 per cent by the end of the day in my usage. The 18W charging is the bigger compromise, taking about 2 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge. Overall, battery life is on par with the segment.
