Dell Inspiron 15 3521 (352156500iBU) Laptop (Core i5 3rd Gen/6 GB/500 GB/Ubuntu)

I placed order on 30 Jul and 31 Jul for laptop. From that day no steps has been taken by Flipkart to procure the product or give the information. Every day I am hearing that you will get the product in 2 days. I find these people are very careless. Everyday they make same promises and waste my time. I am feeling cheated by Flipkart. Till date I have not received the product.

I purchased this laptop on the 26th of August in the morning and received it on the 27th evening. I have heard a ton of horror stories of missing shipments and delayed deliveries and was always vary of buying electronic goods from a website. These two days, however, were a breeze owing to the updates that I received on regular basis as to the location of the shipment. After receipt, I checked the box and was pleasantly surprised with the packaging. A large a** box which packed the laptop, accessories, and the bag neatly. Pros (Not so required to absolutely essential): 1. The bag is steadfast and holds the laptop neatly 2. The haptically structured surface has a comfortable grip 3. Old-fashioned NumPad (Took me forever to work on my other laptop with “new fangled no-numbers on the side”) 4. The cam works well and is not dark as my last notebook (Also from DELL) 5. A larger screen is a boon (We are continuously looking for smaller laptops and larger cell phones – I really don’t get it!!!) 6. The laptop’s configurations are upto the mark and works like a dream (The i5 Processor and 6GB RAM do their job with aplomb as I am not a laptop-gamer and these are satisfactory for me) Cons (Alarming to mildly concerning): 1. Side cracks are prone to dust 2. The battery does not hold for as long as claimed (Now I know most claims are tall but I cannot watch a complete movie, i.e., less than 3 hours without your charger plugged in) 3. Speakers reach a high volume but only bass sound is heard (especially at high volume). Since it does not own a subwoofer, can barely hear any low-pitched sounds. Buy good speakers. 4. The reflective and not too bright display is a sun worshipper's nightmare 5. Flipkart’s offering the same laptop at minus 2500/- in a month’s time (This one’s only for me :P :P) Verdict (My two cents) The laptop seems to be a tough cookie: Dell's Inspiron squeezes ultrabook features, business features (numeric pad, good ergonomics) and game capability (Mobile HM76 Express) in one simple plastic chassis. Gaming and computing performance are convincing for this price-range, at least for supporters of energy-saving processors. Despite the claims, it fails to ensure competitive run-times of over seven hours.. All in all, the Inspiron 15 3521 stays a simple device that is economical but still powerful enough for home/office use and not-to-demanding games. Those who want more gaming performance and a more appealing look should look elsewhere. The look and processing leave a very good impression even though the plastic surfaces only imitate aluminum and are made for undemanding customers.
