Dell Vostro 1550 Laptop (Core i3 2nd Gen/2 GB/320 GB/Linux)

Well, I have been a regular customer of flipkart and never been disappointed with their service. nAs always, the delivery that was promised is 5 working days came in 2! Excellent!nnAbout the laptop - Its been 3 weeks since I am using the the laptop. It has a rubber grip kind of finish, is extremely lightweight and looks awesome. The large 15.6" screen with the HD display does wonders when you watch HD movies, or simply run day to day activities.nThe speakers located right in the front is so tiny that you can't even notice them. However, sound quality is not compromised at all. It is far far better than my Sony VAIO speakers, which costs so much more.nnThe keyboard layout is nice and easy to use for a person with big fingers like me. On a 2GB RAM, I have installed the Windows 7 64 bit OS and the performance is good.nnThe laptop was primarily bought only for simple activities and not hard core gaming or resource hungry operations like AutoCad, MATLAB etc. Suggest higher RAM for those apps. The computer allows an 8GB upgrade to its RAM, so it should be more than enough for future use too.nnWas pleasantly surprised when I got Ubuntu rather than DOS pre-installed. nnAll in all, brilliant price, amazing speaker and display quality, excellent quality finished product by Dell, the Dell Vostro 1550 is a sure shot winner!

I have been relaying on these valuable review before I decide to buy. And now, its my turn to provide the feedback of the product that I bought. Before I could decide on this laptop, I had a specific requirement of running a virtualization tool which needs Intel VT on the laptop that I buy. I did some reading to find which laptop would support this feature. The dell Vostro BIOS supported it, so I settled with Dell Vostro 1550. Its been few months now, and fairly happy with this laptop. Its is a great for the price. About the hardware, It’s a 2Gen i3/2GB/500 GB. I ordered additional 8 GB ram (4+4) from flipkart. Removed the existing 2 GB ram and added these two 4 GB memory modules. The memory can be added by simply removing the keyboard and I did it myself. With 8 GB Ram the system with bare windows booted in less than 30 sec and of course with application installed it was just little over 45 Sec. The battery lasts for little more than 3 Hours (3 hrs with in the laptop specifications) Feature that I liked: -Clear Display, great contract (no on screen level indicator for contract) -Great sound -Delighting Speed and performance -Quite Fan, Does not get heated up even on continuous run for about 6 hrs long -Rubberized finish provides good holding grip. But it’s difficult to clean the dust accumulated on the cover -USB port are position rightly (unlike my levnovo T400 they are too close and if I use a datacard on one port the device blocks the other port as well) Feature that I disliked. -Thought I read the laptop is built sturdy. Its actually not. - One common function switch for WIFI and Bluetooth. - No LED indication for the ethernet connection -Slightly thicker - no usb 3.0 only usb 2.0 - 5400 rpm hdd and not 7200 Overall I am satisfied with laptop and before I end, its important to provide my feedback about flipkart. I had this laptop delivered on the second day of the order placement. The delivery turnaround is excellent. Iam happy with Flipkart and its service, please keep it up!!!!! Thanks
