I've purchased Dell Venue 8 Pro (64GB) from somewhere else. nHere are few things one should know before buying it. nn*Its a full fledge PC running 8.1. n*Touch is awesomely responsive, I keep on playing with it with my stylus. Since the day it has come to me.. My Windows Phone and Ipad mini don't get much of my time. n*Colors are awesome.. You would love watching videos on this 8 inch screen. n*This is an important point: It won't connect to PC as it itself is a PC and no two PCs can be connected vis USB. First day, I plugged it into my laptop to transfer some files... I got no response from either of the device. Initially, I was shocked but did research to find that it is reasonable that it, any other PC as a matter of fact, doesn't connect to another PC via USB. n*It opens all pen drives immediately. To connect a pen drive, you will need an OTG cable that converts micro USB male to USB 2.0/3.0 female. (Available in market at 120 rupees). *It opens external hard disk drives too but only those which fetch power from external source. If you want it to open an external hard drive that fetches power from PC/Laptop, you would need to buy a USB Y cable that has one micro USB male to two USB (one male and another female) n*You would love this device if you have a WIndows Phone. The moment you log in, it will sync all your settings etc. Moreover, when I connected my phone to this device, this device shows me missed call and other notifications of my phone.
Embrace this tablet, you will understand its capability. I am not literally undermining android and ios but windows 8.1 actually does so, it is one of a kind product offering you plethora of productivity. It is actually a full desktop which fits into your palm. It runs any desktop software apart from windows 8 apps with live tiles and above of all it comes with licensed Microsoft office 2013. Now coming to Dell hardware, tablet feel is premium, it has a high quality IPS display, battery life is very decent, will give you 10-12 hours at a stretch on high to moderate use. for the price and specifications, it is a sure buy if your budget permits.
