After We Collided Review

After We Collided is a romantic drama film that continues the tumultuous romance between Tessa and Hardin, from prequel After, as they navigate through trust issues, jealousy, and secrets that threaten to tear them apart. Furthermore, the chemistry between the two leads, Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, is undeniably electric and the film's pacing is brisk. The film works because of director Roger Kumble's sensible adaptation of the young adult book series, which has been a superhit in that age group. On top of that, the film's strong performances and emotionally charged scenes make it a worthwhile watch. Some may not like its predictable plot and shallow character development, which really holds this sequel back from becoming a great romance movie. Overall, After We Collided is a romantic drama film that manages to entertain its target audience with its steamy scenes despite its predictable storyline.

Author Anna Todd confirmed on her social media accounts that she wrote the script for this movie, promising fans of the books that the film's sequels would stay truer to the books. Roger Kumble directed Cruel Intentions (1999), a film with a plot often compared to the one of Anna Todd's After. Selma Blair, who plays Carol Young, also starred in Cruel Intentions as Cecile Caldwell.

Peter Gallagher, who played the role of Ken Scott in the first movie was replaced by Rob Estes.

Cameo: Anna Todd: During the beginning of the nightclub scene, Anna Todd is the author being asked which books they've written.
