Janitor Jesus has been working at the clinic since the Roe vs Wade decision in 1973.
Veteran actor Corey Feldman was originally cast as Jesus the janitor. He filmed some scenes before director/writer Bruce Marchiano recast himself in the role. The two had creative differences over how often Jesus was seen holding the mop. Feldman felt it should be hardly at all whereas Marchiano felt it should be constantly present.
This film was paid for almost entirely by donations. A list of donors can be seen in the credits.
The role of Alison was originally written as a "mixed race" girl but Chanel Marriot's audition was so powerful that the role was rewritten for her. To quote the director, "She was undeniable."
Bruce Marchiano wrote the screenplay at his kitchen table based on a story idea he'd scribbled on paper 15 years earlier of God appearing to a young woman struggling with pregnancy.
