The TV series Riverdale (2017) names all of its episode titles after movies. The eleventh episode of the first season, Riverdale: Chapter Eleven: To Riverdale and Back Again (2017), was named after this made-for-TV film.

There is a line while Archie and Jughead talk about graduating from Riverdale High School, and Jughead says "I wish we never did that". This is a in-joke to the comics, where the gang still attends good old Riverdale High, and have also never aged.

"[Jughead and Archie are at the junkyard] Archie: We had great times in high school before we graduated. Jughead: I wish we never did that."
