TRIVIA

Trivia

AsBoob is a contraction of "asal bobo," literally means "dumb behavior".

This film can be considered as an unofficial Filipino remake of the film Stripes (1981) due to large similarity on its plot. It also got some inspiration from the film Police Academy (1984) particularly the introduction of the main characters during its first scenes.

The last names of the main characters from this film are based from the last names of the heroes that fought during the Philippine Revolution of 1896 and Filipino-American War.

The experiences of the main characters, except Luna (Paolo Contis), prior to joining the army are based from some of the characters in the film Police Academy (1984). Some of them are modified in the case of Bearwin Meily's character who is now an ice-cream peddler instead of a photo booth operator and Vhong Navarro who is now a rebellious son instead of being a walking disaster.

The last name of Joey Marquez' character, General Aquino, is similar to Kris Aquino who was romantically involved with Marquez at that time .
