The outside of the General Store was based on the Mobil petrol station building in Terrey Hills, Sydney. The building was portrayed very closely, including the awning on the side and the worn, cracked step at the front. The petrol station, no longer there, was situated on the corner of McCarr's Creek and Mona Vale Roads, prior to the redevelopment of this area.
