The first English-language movie featuring a vampire with visible fangs.
American International Pictures released this film to many drive-in theaters on a double bill with I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (1957) with the tag line: "Warning! Can You Take It? Fiendish! Frenzied! Frightening! It Will Haunt You For Days Afterwards[sic]!"
The "Blood of Dracula" poster motif is based on a Chester Collum illustration from "Adam" magazine Vol. 1 No.10 1957. It reappears further altered on the cover of "Tales of Voodoo", May 1974.
First cinema feature of Paul Maxwell.
Despite the title and the reference to the Carpathian mountain region, the movie has no connection to the actual legend of Count Dracula.
"Nancy Perkins: Who am I? What am I doing, I - I'm living a nightmare!"
"Stanley Mayther: In the meantime we must do everything possible to keep all the other parents at bay. Mrs. Thorndyke: You speak of parents as if they were enemies. Stanley Mayther: That's the only way to think of them."
