Blue Lagoon: The Awakening Review

Directed by Mikael Salomon and Jake Newsome, 'Blue Lagoon: The Awakening' is a romantic and adventurous movie. There wasn't any sort of chemistry between the main leads Indiana Evans and Brenton Thwaites. Both the main leads were trying to speak in an American accent but as they are Australian, it looked very unpleasant. No character was brilliantly performed by any cast member. Cinematography looks very bad. There were a lot of things lacking in the plot. The movie lacked realism in it. That's one of the main reasons why this movie didn't appeal to the audience. The music by Tree Adams and Shane Harper was quite good. The original version of this movie was way much better than this. Overall, it's a below average movie so you can skip it if you want.

TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Production began in California with Eric Bross as director and Denis Lenoir as director of photography. When filming moved to the island of Maui in Hawaii, they were replaced by director Mikael Salomon and director of photography Roy H. Wagner.

Christopher Atkins, who plays Mr. Christiansen, played Richard Lestrange in the 1980 version alongside Brooke Shields.

During filming of the scenes in the lagoon, Thwaites and co-star Indiana Evans were so cold that they could not talk properly, necessitating that automated dialogue replacement be applied to these scenes.

When he was replaced halfway through filming, director Eric Bross chose to remove his name from the credits and replace this with the pseudonym, Jake Newsome.

There are supposedly two versions of this film available on digital retailers: one is the original version, and one is a supposedly "unrated and uncensored" version. But the truth is both versions are the same movie. There is nothing different in either version of the digital film.
