TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

According to Dave Chappelle on The Oprah Winfrey Show: Episode dated 3 February 2006 (2006), a scene was written during filming in which his character was to wear a dress while disguised as a prostitute. Chappelle adamantly refused. The writers complained to the producers who then tried to convince Chappelle to do the scene, but he still refused. According to Chappelle, he felt that it was part of a disturbing trend in which African-American men wear dresses in films.

There were plans to do a sequel which never materialized.

When Miles Logan is on the P.A. yelling at the car in front of him, it is the same car from The Big Lebowski (1998) that The Dude drove.

The police station is actually a façade that was bolted onto the Los Angeles Central Public Library. The façade itself took the production department five weeks to build, and another one and a half weeks to attach to the Library.

During pre-production, the film was originally supposed to carry a hard R rating, but after deliberations, the studio had to tone down the film's script to PG-13. This meant changing the plot, dialogue, and characters. John August was hired as a "script doctor" to make these changes.

Popular Dialogues

"Tulley: I'll rip your lips off, and kiss my ass with them shits. I'll rip your tongue out, and lick my balls with it."

"Miles Logan: Damn. What happened? Did you eat the whole time I was in there? Wait a minute, that's alright. I can adjust, it's the love that counts. I can adjust to a plus size woman, just more cushion for the pushing. Shawna: Janiece! Your sad-ass sack of bones is here! Miles Logan: I apologize, you're her cousin. Can I buy you some cereal?"
