IMDbDespite its name, Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues, is the third film of the 'Boggy Creek' series. Charles B. Pierce, director/producer of the first film The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972), had no affiliation with the sequel, Return to Boggy Creek (1977), so he decided to ignore it and create this film as the official sequel.
Charles B. Pierce considered this to be his worst movie.
At one point, Cindy Butler and Charles B. Pierce were married. Butler appeared in two of Pierce's other movies, The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976) and Grayeagle (1977).
The film was riffed in one of the final episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988).
In Professor Lockhart's office at the beginning of the film, when Tim answers the phone, a plaque with the name "Charles B. Pierce" (the film's star and director), can be seen hanging on the wall.
"Old Man Crenshaw: Lord'ah mercy, I gotta tend to my fires."
"Professor Brian C. 'Doc' Lockart: These river bottoms are truly a sight to behold."
