TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

RKO had originally scheduled this film to be made twice previously: in 1946 with Joan Fontaine, Henry Fonda, John Sutton and Marsha Hunt. It was canceled. In 1948 RKO put the film on its schedule under the title of BED OF ROSES, with Barbara Bel Geddes in the role of Christabel. However, Howard Hughes decided he did not care for Bel Geddes and postponed it.

Curtis' plane is a 1950 Beechcraft B35 Bonanza. First produced in 1947, it is still in production as of 2019 with over 17,000 of all variations having been manufactured. It has been in production longer than any aircraft in history.

The Cadillac is a 1948 Series 62 convertible coupe.

Filmed in mid-1949 but not released until a year later amid the tumultuous ownership of RKO by Howard Hughes.

The portraits in the film were painted by artist Ernst Van Leyden, who was also a technical advisor on the film.
