This is one of a handful of cartoons played constantly on a special television channel at Walt Disney World resorts.
Re-released in cinemas with Fun and Fancy Free (1947) as a "package feature," 9 years after its original release.
The title and plot are based on "The Valiant Little Tailor" or "The Brave Little Tailor", a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm (Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm).
Contains the expression "Jiminy Cricket!", a polite euphemism for "Jesus Christ!" which was popular at the time, and would become the name of the legendary Walt Disney spokes-character who first appeared in Pinocchio (1940).
Included on the DVD edition of The Sword in the Stone (1963).
"Mickey Mouse: Well, so long. I'll be seeing ya... I hope."
"King: Did you kill seven at one blow? Mickey Mouse: Uh, yes, your Honor, and how! King: Well, how? Mickey Mouse: I was all alone. I heard 'em coming. I looked up, and I was surrounded. King: Yes? Mickey Mouse: They were here, there, everywhere. A whole bunch of 'em. They came at me from the right, from the left. Right, left, left, right! King: Yes, yes, go on. Mickey Mouse: They were comin' closer. The fight was on. I swung and missed. I missed and swung. I swung again and again and again. They were right on top of me! King: And then? Mickey Mouse: And then, I let 'em have it!"
